Cyndall & Ben
You might remember the lovely Cyndall and Ben from their airforce inspired engagement shoot we featured last year – today, I get to share their gorgeous Hunter Valley wedding day! I love that the nod to Ben’s love of aircraft wove it’s way through what was a beautifully classic romantic wedding day.
Cyndall tells of how they met. “We met on a blind date on Valentine’s Day in 2009 and have been together ever since! We spent our first date in a coffee shop, drank at least 5 coffees and just chatted for hours. It was like we had known each other our whole lives..” (Read more of Cyndall and Ben’s story in their engagement post).
Gorgeous, romantic wedding photography today from Welsch Photography.
Tower Estate and the Hunter Valley hosted the wedding weekend, Cyndall explaining, “Our wedding was held at Tower Estate in the Hunter Valley, our ceremony was in the Gardens and the reception in Roberts Restaurant We held a “Pre-wedding Cocktails” at Goldfish at the Tempus Two vineyard on the Friday night before the wedding, Cyndall stayed at the Tower Lodge both Friday and Saturday night and this is where the girls got ready. Ben stayed at the Convent, which is where the boys got ready and a lot of the guests stayed, we booked out the whole hotel. The wedding itself, was held at Tower Estate, which is also part of the same grounds as the Tower Lodge and the Convent, on Sunday we held a Brunch at The Petersons Champagne House, so we could celebrate that little bit longer!
Cyndall chose a wedding gown by Rhonda Hemmingway Bridal Couture. Her bridesmaids wore gowns in shades of pink and lavender.
Jade McIntosh Flowers created the floral arrangements for the day.
“The most important special detail that must be mentioned, is Kylie! As a surprise Cyndall bought in secret an 8 week old yellow labrador, that Ben had been begging for, and she walked (was carried by our MC) down the aisle before anyone else, Ben had no idea and was completely bewildered by this addition to the bridal party, before realising what was happening, Ben’s reaction (captured by Welsch) are some of Cyndall’s favourite images!”
Cyndall walked down the aisle to “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last, played by a string trio and piano (d’Amore Ensembles).
“The arbour which we stood under at our ceremony, was made by Cyndall’s family, we all spent a day collecting drift wood and we built it together! It even has all our names written on the back. Cyndall’s dad made from scratch the wooden aisle runner that was used for the ceremony, he put so many man hours into making it, and it made such a big difference to the Bridesmaids and the Bride wearing heels in damp grass.”
Of their photographers, Cyndall says, “Bec and Karl Welsch could not have done a better job taking our photos, we are so happy we chose them! Looking through all of our images, there is not one photo we don’t like, they are all so fantastic!”
“Our tables were names after Ben’s favourite aircrafts, with the bridal table as the Space Shuttle.”
“We also ordered from America, a custom made cake topper, which topped our 5 Tier Cheese Wheel Cake, the topper included our family, Labrador Linkin, new puppy Kylie, our two ferrets, Izzy and Pullo and was customised to include Ben in his RAAF flying Uniform and details similar to Cyndall’s wedding gown.”
“All of the stationery was DIY, as well as the Candy Buffet, the Flower Girls Dresses, the Table Numbers and all other decorations apart from the flowers, it was a big job, but we are so glad that so many details were created with love by us!”
Guests received brown paper packages, Cyndall telling, “Our guests each received a copy of our favourite books as their favours, these doubled as seating cards.”
For their first dance, Cyndall recalls, “Our first dance was to”The Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel we both felt the words encompassed our relationship completely.”
Congratulations Cyndall and Ben! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Welsch Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
