Hello Dotettes, I have one last dose of handmade goodness before Ms Polka and the patterned ladies take a well-earned Christmas break.

So far in this series we’ve made:

I’m back with a few last tips, products and one-step DIYs to inspire you to pull the whole look together.

Flowers

This adorable mini milk bottle crate from Emerald + Ella makes an ideal container for flowers fresh-picked from the garden.

Plates

White is a great versatile choice but for real impact, mix it up with some coloured plates like these.

Napkins

The Ikea pots that were used to make the candle tins also have coordinating tea towels. I cut these up into napkins and hemmed using iron-on hemming tape. If you’re handy with a sewing machine (ahem, unlike me) you can sew the hems for a more durable finish.

Cutlery

Silverware doesn’t have to follow the formal setting, especially if you are planning a more laid-back event. Try tying your cutlery together using some cute bakers twine in a coordinating colour.

Place cards

A colourful floral table can look a bit much without an element to ground the theme. These wooden chalkboard pegs, also from Emerald + Ella, add the much-needed organic element and splash of black to bring the table together.

So there you have it. A whole table you can create using inexpensive products from Ikea and Emerald + Ella, with a good measure of craft (naturally).

That’s me signing off for another year. I’m already scheming up some bigger and better tutorials for 2013 which I can’t wait to share with you.

Until then, have a safe and happy Christmas!
