Raegan and Adam
Classic, black tie never fails to make me giddy. There’s a sense of occasion that comes with it, a sense of “this is a big deal, let’s dress up and celebrate”. Luckily Raegan and Adam didn’t take it too seriously, they paid homage to their loves (football!), their home (Wollongong~) and even the club where they first met on their wedding day. It was a celebration of memories, of times shared and times yet to come.
Raegan recalls how she met, or rather hunted down Adam. ” I stalked Adam! I saw his photo from his year 12 formal and fell in love with his smile, I then made it my mission to be introduced to him! ”
Photographs are by Janine Kaye who seems to inject gold into her captures while keeping them clean, crisp and no fuss. (P.S Janine is moving to Perth, lucky Perth couples get to have her talent!). Capture You Videography shot the couple’s wedding day film.
Raegan recalls, ” I was nice and calm all day, everyone thought that I would be in a total fuss but it turns out it was Adam! Apparently he could find the cologne he wanted to wear, and was In a mad panic so he drove to the local shopping centre and bought some more! It was the cologne that I gave him, our very first Christmas together!” Adam and his groomsmen wore suits from Bonanno’s Menswear with shoes from Julius Marlow.
The bride and her bridesmaids had their hair styled by Leigh from Winter Hair Spa, Cronulla and makeup by Minq Body & Beauty.
Raegan wore a Pronovias gown with blue Christian Louboutin glittery heels as her “something blue”. She accessorised with jewels from Fletcher & Grace. Raegean’s two bridesmaids wore peach knee length gowns from Peter Bartlett (02 4229 6979) with Tony Bianco shoes and Diva jewels.
Raegan and Adam were married at the Wollongong City Gallery. Raegan says “The art gallery was so accommodating to us, the let us bring in decorations the day before and even let us have pictures amongst the art work” Southern Style Events set up and styled the ceremony.
Raegan walked down the aisle to “That’s All” by Rod Stewart.
Raegan describes her wedding day as, “The most romantic and fun day, the day I married my best friend and soul mate!”
Raegan and Adam had photos around their favourite places in Wollongong- places that not only meant something to them as a couple, but to their life together. Raegan explains “We had photos at Vikings Rugby Club as that’s who Adam plays for. We also had photos out the front of Glasshouse, it’s the club we met at!”
Classique Flowers arranged the flowers for the day,. Raegan remarks “Sarah did and amazing job and attached my Pop’s epaulette to my bouquet as my something old”
Of their photographer, Raegan says “Janine was awesome! None of our photos were staged, she just guided us! And no fake smiles! She made us laugh and was silly with us and had fantastic ideas and takes amazing photos! ”
Raegan and Adam held their reception at City Beach Function Centre. Raegan says “City beach has the most beautiful backdrop and the room itself is softly lit for the romantic feel we were going for.” The couple played big band music during the celebration for a romantic 1940’s feel.
The groom’s sister Jessica Page designed orange and white stationery for the couple.
Balgownie Village Patisserie created a three tier orange and white cake which featured a tiny Vikings football helmet for Adam. Raegan decorated the gift table. She remarks “I wanted it to reflect where our honeymoon was going to be so it was based all around Europe and travel!”
As a nod to Raegan’s love of taking photos, the couple hired a photo booth from funbooth as their guest’s favors.
For their first dance, Raegan says “We danced to have “Have You met Miss Jones?” by Robbie Williams. We took lessons then completely forget the steps when we got out there but we pulled it off!”
The most important memories for Raegan? “We both showed up! All our family came from near and far, everyone danced the night away, we laughed the whole day! We took some time during the reception to watch our guests having fun and most of all we love each other!”
Congratulations on your marriage Raegan and Adam! Thank you for sharing your wedding with us! Thank you also to Janine Kaye for today’s photographs!
My favourite photos (hard to choose though) were the Wollongong City Gallery ones and the Vikings rugby field ones. Two contrasting locations make for a really beautiful collection of memories for Reagan and Adam!
