Stacy and Jez

Debs Ivelja is a bit of a traveler- you see she’s based in London but travels everywhere (including a planned trip to Australia at the end of this year!) so it’s a delight to share some of her Australian work today on Polka Dot Bride! Especially an engagement shoot on the glorious Gold Coast beaches. I think this one might be a first for us. Deb told the romantic proposal story of Stacy and Jez. “Poor Jez planned a really cute proposal that did not quite go to plan! Still, Stacy said yes and I cannot wait for their wedding 🙂

Having been together for 6 years, Stacy and Jez were engaged in October this year. Having just completed the building of their home, Jez decided to keep it personal and propose to Stacy in their new  house, surprising her after she got back from a trip to the hair dressers one day.

Jez planned his engagement carefully and romantically by decorating the house with little love heart stepping stones, each with a love message on it which would lead Stacy to the final love message – “Stacy Lee will you Marry Me” right next to the ring and a candle. Before Stacy was due home that day, he realised he needed to make a call but as their place had limited cell signal, he had to head out the house up the road to make it. Despite carefully keeping one eye on the road while he made his call, he did not see Stacy drive past him and on returning home, Stacy waked right into her surprise engagement, but with no Jez there to propose! Realising what was happening she called him to find out where he was and the first he knew his plan had not quite worked was Stacy on the other end of the phone saying “I’m at home!” Poor Jez!

When Jez did return, Stacy happily said yes and this gorgeous couple will be tying the knot next year in Airlie Beach and their wedding will be a fab family and friends affair set at the Deja Vu Restaurant with its spectacular views out to Airlie Beach and the sea.”

Something about he colours of the beach always enchant me when it comes to photographs- Mother Nature never misses a beat with her backgrounds.
