The warmer weather is just around the corner, and we decided we’d welcome it in for 2026 by spending two months sharing one of our very favourite settings for a wedding, the garden. From lighting to styling, to real weddings, everything you need to know and everything you’ll be inspired by for a garden wedding is going to unfold on our pages over the next two months.

And you know we love to dive into the layers, but gardens are a little trickier. Are weddings like flowers? Are we pulling the weeds? Are marriages like gardens? Maybe, a little. But maybe for this issue, the layers are in what a garden represents.

Because metaphorically (you know how much we love a metaphor), we love what a garden represents. The hope that starts the second you stick your fingers into the dirt. A garden, at the very beginning, is nothing really. It’s dirt, and mess, and hours of work nobody photographs. And somehow, it becomes magic. It does that through your own persistence and hard work, your curating, your tending, your building it into something that works for you.

Much like a wedding, really. Nobody sees the months of planning, the decisions made and unmade, the version of the day you pictured before you found the one that was actually yours. All anyone sees is the finished thing, blooming on the day.

This issue is for the bit before that. The growing part.
