We first put this list together back in 2024, because we kept seeing the same thing pop up in couples’ plans. A love for European-style venues. The light, the architecture, the sense of history, the feeling of somewhere that already has stories in its walls.
A few years on, that pull hasn’t really gone away. The dream of a wedding against the backdrop of Lake Como, alongside a Tuscan villa, in the gardens of a French chateau, or in a Spanish courtyard is still as popular as ever. But not everyone has the budget, or the inclination, to fly, or to ask their guests to fly halfway around the world.
That’s where this list comes in.
All around Australia, some venues echo those same European influences. Old stone buildings, vineyards that feel straight out of Italy, manor houses with French countryside energy, courtyards that could almost be in Spain. They’re not trying to be replicas. They just happen to have that same sense of atmosphere, texture, and place.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels a little European, but you want to keep things local, this is a lovely place to start. Below, we’ve gathered an updated list of some of our favourite Australian venues that bring those influences to life, each in their own way.
And if you’re in the middle of venue hunting and want to explore more options, you can always browse the Polka Dot Wedding Directory for even more places to fall in love with.
