Set at the romantic Brindabella Hills Winery in all of its spring bloom, Morgan and Patrick celebrated their marriage with a beautiful whimsy wedding. Captured with the timeless beauty of Madi Fitzgerald Photography and Happy Heart Films, today’s feature is one we can’t stop thinking about. Let’s dive into the details!
The choices we see as small and seemingly insignificant in the moment can actually be life-changing. Like Morgan going to the same school as Declan – she had no idea that it would eventually lead her to the love of her life: his brother Patrick!
It was on a Great Ocean Road trip in 2023 that their relationship levelled up – even after Morgan accidentally spoiled Patrick’s proposal plan. “We had stopped for the night in Apollo Bay, with plans to walk to the top of a hill with fish and chips to watch the sunset, but it was so cloudy, and I suggested staying at the accommodation. Little did I know I had foiled Patrick’s plan for the proposal! We still had fish and chips and had dinner at our accommodation. I turned to him and asked if he could bring me some more salt (more salt is always better), and Patrick was already bringing it to the table. I offhandedly said he was the best and knew me so well, and when I turned around, he had the ring out and popped the question!”
Patrick opted for a Hugo Boss suit, choosing a special, durable material that let him party all night without worrying about his pants splitting! He finished his look off with a custom pair of cufflinks featuring their pets: Archie and Rascal.
His groomsmen, Declan, Kieran, Ben and David, all wore matching black suits from ASOS.
In Morgan’s wedding party, she had Jasmine, Megan, Charlotte and Sarah, with everyone in a range of pink dresses from Aje, Showpo and By Johnny.
Morgan herself wore this whimsical Hera Couture gown that was pure magic – and we’re a little bit (actually a lot) obsessed! “I added a large bow on the back to make it extra me! I wanted to add a bit more fun, so I wore an absolutely amazing pair of pink shoes from Bared Footwear. I even wore my great-grandmother’s pearls. It was a nice way to include her.”
Capturing their heartfelt first look and the rest of this romantic day is the gifted Madi Fitzgerald. “The best choice! She was so amazing and made us feel and look relaxed (no easy feat)!” Morgan shared.
From their beautiful cake made by Glacé Canberra to the hair (Zabelle Hair) and makeup (Steph Church) teams, Morgan and Patrick loved their whole vendor dream team. “Everyone was amazing. Don’t make us choose! It was amazing getting to chat with so many amazing people who just love weddings.”
Brindabella Hills Winery was the perfect backdrop for this romantic whimsy wedding, with breathtaking gardens and an incredible team. “It was truly amazing and everything we had hoped for. Getting married, looking over the Brindabellas, was beautiful and so special.”
When it came to flowers, Fionna from Peony N Pearl plucked the vision straight out of Morgan’s mind and delivered the perfect amount of colour! “They really complemented the venue and colour scheme and really brightened everything up while maintaining class and elegance.”
An acoustic version of “Work Song” by Hozier floated through the air as Morgan began her walk down the aisle. “Because both my parents had knee injuries, I walked most of the aisle on my own and met them at the end for a final hug before the ceremony started,” she explained.
Morgan wanted the ceremony to be funny and a reflection of their relationship, and with the help of their celebrant, Teegan Loves Weddings, they did exactly that. “I think we nailed it, and we are still getting comments that our ceremony was the most fun,” she shared. “It was truly magical, and it was so lovely to stand up there with our favourite people. We both teared up a lot.”
Of all the beautiful details, five things stood out to Morgan and Patrick:
”1. Obviously, getting to marry each other
2. Seeing all our hard work come together
3. Getting to share our day with our loved ones
4. Having our ceremony reflect us – the perfect amount of romance and jokes
5. Getting to party the night away!”
Patrick and Morgan had this piece of advice to share with other couples deep in the wedding planning process: “No matter what happens, it will still be the most amazing day!”
Instead of traditional place cards, Morgan lovingly embroidered each guest’s name onto the napkins! “It’s so nice going to our friends for dinner, and they bring out the napkins!”
Every photo in their gallery has a special place in Morgan’s heart, but if there’s one that really stuck in her mind, it’s this one here. “There is one with us, sitting in the grass at sunset, that is so beautiful.”
“Baby, I’m Yours” by The Arctic Monkeys was their first dance song. “We aren’t big dancers, so we knew we didn’t want a long dance and just wanted to use our dance as a way to get into the party! After “Baby, I’m Yours” finished, we went straight into “Accidentally In Love” by Counting Crows and the party really got started!”
Thanks to Madi Fitzgerald for sharing this whimsical wedding. And congratulations to Patrick and Morgan!
