With elegant European flair and a touch of whimsy, Emme and Kasey’s wedding at Quat Quatta was a day overflowing with laughter and emotion. Captured beautifully by Shannan Griffiths Photography, their celebration perfectly blended timeless style with deeply personal touches – what began as a modern-day Tinderella story ended with a lush garden ceremony surrounded by their favourite people (and pups!).

Even though Emme had specifically told Kasey that she wanted a private proposal, when it was time for him to ask the question, he was just so excited that nothing could’ve stopped him. “We went and celebrated a day out for my birthday, which involved a bottomless pasta lunch, which was amazing but very filling, followed by a Pinot and Picasso class. We decided to get a couple of bottles of wine for this and got a little wasted – this was now the perfect time for Kasey to ask me in front of 30 condensed strangers if he would marry me via his masterpiece – I was caught so off guard and a little embarrassed, but once everyone cheered, it was a nice little celebration. The thought was nice as I’m an arty gal, so I can see his meaning behind it.”

Kasey wore a classic tuxedo tailored by InStitchu, featuring a black velour jacket with a silk lapel, black pants, a white shirt, and a velour bow tie. His wedding party wore matching black suits in a traditional suiting material, rather than velour.

Taking inspiration from vintage Vivienne Westwood couture, Emme worked with three different designers to bring her dream gown to life without the hefty price tag. With pieces from The Bridal Curator, Bridal Separates and Khirzad Femme, her stunning vintage look came together in the perfect blend of lace and silk. “All of the designers were so lovely and attentive to my hopeful outcome.”

For Kasey, his most memorable moment from their elegant wedding was the first look. “I arrived with my groomsmen as well as my brothers out of our limousine on the day, we had some time to look around and take it all in before Emme and the girls arrived. It was then that I caught up with our wonderful and fun photographer, Shannan. She took me to the front of the venue and placed me facing the building, filling me with absolute joy and tears of happiness as she described my beautiful bride to me as she pulled up in her Cadillac,” he shared.

“Shan made the experience for me so extra special, as Emme approached and tapped me on the shoulder, I turned and was instantly filled with happy tears again – I have never experienced that kind of happiness in my life and could not stop sobbing, as I laid eyes on my soon-to-be wife. Our experience then was shared together as Shan took us through our first-look photo shoot which was fun, romantic and passionate.”

Quat Quatta was the backdrop for this elegant summer wedding, with its beautiful overgrown gardens and attentive staff – there was no better venue for the day. “We chose Quat Quatta as it was the venue that stood out to the two of us the most, and we couldn’t stop thinking about it. Not only were we sold on getting married in that overgrown, lush, greenery escape of a courtyard, but the menu and the staff all had direct, great reviews. It was the only place in Melbourne that we found that was the most suitable for our little ‘Chateau’ type wedding.”

With the help of Melbourne Event Florals and Florian Florist, the florals for the ceremony bloomed beautifully, full of luscious greens and whites. “We hired Melbourne event florals to put together our ceremony florals and Florian Florists for our baby’s breath table troughs. I hand-picked both mine and all the girls’ flowers the day prior to the wedding, so that we could all put them together that night – I just chose my favourite flowers,” Emme explained.

As an instrumental version of SZA’s “Saturn” was played live on electric guitar, Emme and her dad walked down the aisle. Followed by “Sweet Disposition” by Temper Trap later, as they signed their papers.

Led by Xavier Dowling from Vowz With Dowz, their ceremony was kept short, sweet and sentimental. “I was anxious the entire day for this – before I walked down the aisle, my dad was trying to pull me together, but once I walked and was up there with Kasey, I was not so nervous anymore – he was more nervous than I was! We read our vows to each other privately on our honeymoon.”

Shannan Griffiths Photography beautifully captured Emme and Kasey’s elegant wedding, and the two of them couldn’t have loved her presence more. “I have not one negative thing to say about Shannan and her helper, Molly. They both brought the vibes the entire day and made everyone feel like royalty. It was so helpful having that second photographer because they both could capture every little detail that we had on our photography mood board. I could not recommend Shannan Griffiths Photography enough! She’s a wizard.”

For Emme, the top five things that made her and Kasey’s elegant summer wedding so special were:

“1. Being with the ones we love and that are closest to us

2. Marrying each other

3. Our band, Fiction Entertainment, was insane – I didn’t know a lady who could belt out Rage Against the Machine as well as Eminem, like that…

4. Being able to capture everything we hoped for

5. Being able to have our dogs with us – even if it was briefly, we’ll have those memories forever.”

Trying to pick a single highlight from the day? Nearly impossible for Emme and Kasey, but here’s what stood out: “The whole day was perfect – it’s hard to pinpoint one specific occasion, but if I had to, probably the speeches, both super emotional and hilarious. Quat Quatta was incredibly attentive with everyone’s re-drinks and food, and just overall amazing service!”

Their first dance was to “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls. “We’ve had so many fun memories with that song together. It was also an easy one to slowly pull everyone onto the dance floor, as we were too awkward to dance in front of everyone for an entire song.”

Congratulations to Emme and Kasey on this stunning celebration – and a huge thank you to Shannan Griffiths Photography for capturing every beautiful moment so perfectly.
