Weddings outdoors aren’t just about pretty sunsets. They’re a leap into the unknown. One day you’ve got blue skies and golden light, the next it’s wind in your hair, rain on the dress, and mud on your shoes. Sometimes it means a scramble for umbrellas or a last-minute shift under cover, but it’s always full of stories you’ll remember long after the day.
For our final issue of 2025, we are stepping outside. The Alfresco Issue is a celebration of outdoor weddings in all their beauty and reality—the grit, the surprises, and the joy of celebrating under open skies. Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing inspiration, stories, and advice for couples who love the outdoors, and for the vendors who know how to make magic no matter what the weather brings.
There’s something about being outside that strips everything back. No ceilings, no walls, just open sky and all the unpredictability that comes with it. Sometimes the weather plays nice, and sometimes it absolutely does not, but that’s the magic. It’s in the laughter when plans go sideways, the kookaburra that decides to join in during the vows, or the way everyone huddles together when the rain rolls through.
So whether you’re after sunshine or packing extra umbrellas just in case, we’re here for it, mud, mess, wild weather, the lot.
