What started with a brushing of hands led Lee and Josh to their intimate Blue Mountain wedding, surrounded by the warm laughter of their loved ones. Captured effortlessly by the talented Erin and Erica from Margan Photography, they can now look back on their stunning day forever!

As Paramedics, Josh and Lee aren’t strangers to high-stress situations, but their love for helping others is ultimately what brought them together. “I had my eye on him for a while but I was too shy to talk to him,” Lee shared.

“We did a job together one night, and I handed him a piece of equipment, and our hands touched. I sent him a text later that night thanking him for his help … and the rest is history.”

On Lee’s dream trip to Uluru, Josh decided to turn that dream up a notch by planning a surprise proposal! “We enjoyed a beautiful dinner as the sun set behind Uluru and walked through the field of lights at the base,” she explained.

“It takes a lot to make Josh nervous. I hugged him just before he proposed, and I have never heard his heartbeat so fast. We spent the night walking through the fairy lights talking about unconditional love and how we had found it in each other.”

For Lee and Josh, the three things that really made their intimate wedding so unique to them included:

“1. We made it exactly how we wanted and prioritised what felt comfortable for us.

2. We did a first look and our photos before the ceremony, so we could spend the whole evening with our guests.

3. It was the middle of winter in the magical Blue Mountains, but it felt like the world had paused and all that mattered was our warm, intimate venue full of the voices and laughter of the people we love the most.”

When Josh and Lee pictured their wedding, they dreamed of an intimate dinner party setting where they could serve their guests delicious food and cocktails all night long. And with the team at The Kyah and particularly their onsite restaurant Blaq, they did exactly that. “The Kyah is a boutique hotel in Blackheath, with a beautiful restaurant onsite called Blaq. It had everything we needed all in one place with a modern and intimate feel,” Lee shared.

“The chef at Blaq was so ready to help us create the intimate dinner party we dreamed of. He ordered ingredients especially for us, and we felt like VIPs at our tastings and on the night.”

Margan Photography captured every intimate moment alongside Lee and Josh throughout their Blue Mountain wedding. “The Margans are the most beautiful couple, who honestly just wanted to capture our day in a way that uniquely and authentically celebrated us. They had the perfect mix of planned and candid photos; it really was effortless,” Josh says.

“They were our standout vendor. We still cannot believe the beautiful memories they have captured that we will have forever. Our photos were all the talk at work for weeks after the wedding.”

As Tash & Mitch performed a beautiful version of “Feels Like Home”, Lee began her walk down the aisle with her dad on her arm. “It is one of my special memories, Josh in front of me and all our favourite people around me.”

Scarlett from Happily Ever Arthur was the perfect celebrant to lead Lee and Josh’s intimate ceremony. As a huge lover of love, Scarlett’s a hopeless romantic who loves telling other people’s stories. “Our ceremony was simple and perfectly captured our commitment to a lifetime of adventures and teamwork. Scarlett was perfect for helping us share this promise with each other and our guests. It was intimate, easy and full of love.”

Overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from all their guests, Lee and Josh took a moment during their reception to soak in those wonderful feelings together. “I have the most beautiful memory of the restaurant filled with the voices and laughter of everyone enjoying their time together.”

With so many beautiful moments captured by their photographers, it wasn’t easy for Lee to pick her favourite. But she has a soft spot for these shots from the hotel hallway. “I think one of my favourite one to show people is the one of us towards the end of the night kissing in a pink hotel corridor. The colours and lighting and our outfits are all perfect,” she explained.

“The photographers were just perfect, they were the first vendors I booked because I knew I wanted them to capture our day.”

Congratulations, Lee and Josh, on this beautifully intimate wedding! Thanks to Margan Photography for sharing these shots with us.
