Who knew a pastel holud could pack such a punch?! From the moment guests arrived to the flower garland ceremony and the dance floor buzzing with energy, Sumaiya and Nick’s celebration was a vibrant fusion of fun, family, and tradition. Held at the charming Gledswood Homestead, this intimate celebration blended Bengali rituals with a whole lot of joy (and a coffee cart for good measure). Every detail, from the candid to the choreographed, was beautifully captured by NG Creative Studio.

Between lockdowns, Sumaiya and Nick met at a mutual friend’s event. They’d only gotten to spend two dates together before another lockdown came over New South Wales. So, they spent the next five months chatting online, and when the restrictions were lifted, it was as if they were meeting for the first time all over again!

Sumaiya describes Nick as being a passionate, spontaneous, and private person, so it was no surprise to her that their proposal was intimate. “Nick mentioned we had no plans on the weekend, so I arrived at his house for an afternoon walk (which I thought we wouldn’t do as it had poured down during the day); however, he insisted we go on this walk. He proposed at Centennial Park, across the street from our home, and I was truly shocked and surprised. Celebrated shortly after with our nearest and dearest, completely unplanned, but a night to remember!”

The venue of choice for their pastel holud was the beautiful Gledswood Homestead & Winery. It was the perfect location for their celebrations, with a relaxed lawn space and an inviting winery feel that guests didn’t have to travel too far out of Sydney for.

Noksha Events was the creative genius behind this beautiful pastel styling, drawing inspiration from Sumaiya’s lehenga. From the floral hangings draped across the lawn to the mirrored backdrop – every single detail was meticulously chosen with love. Sumaiya’s favourite part of planning everything was seeing how their dream team of vendors brought her vision to life!

Sumaiya’s incredible lehenga was crafted by Abhinav Mishra, featuring eye-catching mirror details that complemented the styling, pastel tones, and glittering details.

Nick wore a classic pastel sage sherwani with intricate gold detailing, matching shoes, and tan-coloured pants.

Capturing every detail from Nick and Sumaiya’s holud was the talented NG Creative Studio! The perfect fit for this love story, her dreamy, romantic lens framed every detail flawlessly. “I would choose her again and again. I met Nabeela for the first time at my cousin’s engagement, and I knew I wanted her to be a part of our event. What I loved the most about NG Creative Studio was that she gave us ideas on how to take photos and included cute things for us, including a music playlist, so we would enjoy the photoshoot! She also made sure we had eaten and were hydrated throughout the day, which we had forgotten to do!” Sumaiya shares.

The five things that made this pastel holud perfect for Sumaiya and Nick were:

“1. Marrying my best friend

2. Seeing everyone we love interact with each other and hang out

3. Choreographed dances with my best friends

4. People flying in from all over the world to attend

5. Having a traditional Bengali arrival party for guests.”

They included the Mala Badal, an exchange of flower garlands. The act of exchanging garlands at the ceremony symbolises acceptance and respect between the couple as guests fill the air with cheers. Followed by blessings given by both of their families as part of the ceremony. “We wanted it to be a celebration of our love and the commitment between us and our families.”

To keep guests upbeat, Sumaiya and Nick hired out a cute coffee cart for guests to enjoy on the law. They also hired Urban Tadka for all their catering needs – keeping guests well-fed and happy throughout the celebrations.

With the help of Bollywood Choreography, Sumaiya and Nick put together an impressive 15-minute performance for their guests after the ceremony. “Nick’s pants about to fall down during the dance performance, which I had no idea about until we re-watched the video. Poor guy!

The advice Sumaiya and Nick want to leave for future couples is this: “The day is going to be perfect! No one remembers or knows about the little things that have gone wrong. Also remember to eat and drink so you can party!”

Sumaiya’s favourite moment of the day was seeing all of their friends and family dancing together on the dance floor, enjoying the celebrations and embracing the love-filled atmosphere.

Their sunset portrait session with NG Creative Studio was Nick’s favourite part of the day. “Carrying my wife-to-be during sunset for a photo shoot with NG Creative Studio was up there. Second to this, seeing the LifeSize cut out of us that Noksha Events put up at the location!”

A heartfelt thank you NG Creative Studio for capturing every colourful, joy-filled moment so beautifully! Congratulations to Sumaiya and Nick on this incredible celebration.
