For today’s feature, think botanical beauty meets modern glam. This wedding was at the effortlessly lush Botanica Plantation House, where Mark and Jordon embraced the venue’s natural greenery. The vibe? Feminine, minimal, and oh-so-refined. With styling help from JJ Style and mood boards fuelled by TikTok scrolls and Instagram saves, Jordon and Mark brought their vision of botanical glam to life – and every detail was a total knockout, captured by Wilde Visual.
Set up by their friends, Mark and Jordon first met on a night out and immediately hit it off! One week later, they’d already planned their first date and were falling further in love with each passing day they spent together.
Mark transformed a gloomy, stormy day at Bribie Island into a day Jordon will never forget! “It was a random Thursday, and we both had the day off. We had talked about possibly going for a drive to the beach to get fish and chips for lunch. But when we woke up, it was a shocker of a day, and I was hesitant about going since we had a one-year-old toddler – it just felt like a lot,” she explained.
“Mark was confident the weather would clear and insisted we go. Little did I know what he had planned. He proposed on a quiet beach in Bribie, then had organised a lovely dinner back in Brisbane with our closest friends and family. It was very unexpected – but perfect.”
Only a month before the wedding and Jordon was without a dress, after a disastrous fitting with her original gown. She ventured into Bessette Bridal with all the hope in the world, and with the help of the Bessette team, the day was saved! She selected a gorgeous, structured white gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a full, flowing train. “I wore a beautiful dress from Bessette Bridal. The team at Bessette saved the day with their broad range of dresses in all kinds of shapes and styles. I also wore an incredible pair of Jimmy Choo shoes with my second dress – it was amazing.”
Her wedding party wore glam black Elliatt dresses from Revolve, contrasting beautifully with the bright botanical theme of the day. “The dresses were stunning and fit everyone incredibly well.”
Jenna and the team from JJ Style brought Jordon’s soft glam vibes to life with their impeccable styling and florals. “We went for a soft, feminine colour palette that beautifully complemented the greenery at the venue, and I chose traditional white roses for my bouquet.”
Mark chose a classic InStitchu suit with a glam twist: a cream jacket to stand out from his wedding party. “He had used InStitchu before and found the experience incredibly easy from start to finish.”
Botanica Plantation House in Duranbah was the venue of choice for this glam wedding: with its ability to host both the ceremony and reception in the same space. “We loved how close it was to Kingscliff – a place Mark and I adore and often visit for weekend getaways or family holidays. It is an incredible venue with multiple spaces, so the wedding never feels stagnant. The food and drinks provided by Botanica were amazing – everyone commented on how full they were! I also recommend doing your menu tasting at Farm & Co (owned by the same company); it was a really special and relaxing experience that got us even more excited for the big day.”
Jordon walked down the aisle with her dad, Steve, as “Home” by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros floated through the air. “It was on my pregnancy playlist from when we had our daughter, Andie. The song talks about family and being at home with each other, which I thought was perfect.”
Kristy from Feathered Weddings was the celebrant for Jordon and Mark’s celebrations, artfully sharing their love story with guests. “The ceremony was a really special part of the day. In particular, saying our vows. Mark and I decided to write our own vows, and it was so exciting to finally hear what each other had written. It was incredibly special and meaningful to us,” Jordon shared.
Their personal vows were actually Jordon’s favourite part of the whole day! “Honestly, all of it! But especially saying our vows. It was so exciting to finally hear what each other had written down – it was truly special. We also loved our speeches. I can’t wait to watch them back once we get our video.”
Mark and Jordon picked out the best vendor dream team to bring their day to life – but two vendors really stuck out with their passion and talents. “All of our vendors were amazing, but two in particular stood out: JJ Style, our stylist, was incredible, and our musician, Mitch Dormer Music. I couldn’t recommend them more!”
Jess from Wilde Visual was the perfect photographer to capture all of Jordon and Mark’s moments across the day. “She was amazing and picked up on our energy and what we wanted very quickly. We have so many incredible photos – not just of us but of our guests, too. It’s so special to look back on them.”
A piece of advice Jordon wants to leave for future couples is this: hire a stylist! “It was so helpful having our stylist set everything up on the day – it meant we didn’t have to think about a thing. We also used Paperless Post for our invitations, which was super helpful, easy, and cost-effective.”
With so many incredible photos, it wasn’t easy for Jordon to pick her absolute favourite, but one photo really stood out. “Ahh, there are so many! But I think it’s definitely the one of Mark and me out the front of the venue in my second look on the driveway.”
The top five things that made this botanical glam wedding so special included:
“1. Ceremony: We spent a lot of time creating our ceremony with our celebrant, including writing custom vows. It felt much more personal than a standard ceremony.
2. Song Choices: We carefully chose every song – ceremony entrance, ceremony exit, reception entry, first dance, and the final song of the night. It added so much personalisation.
3. Speeches: Our speeches were amazing. We had the Mother of the Bride, Father of the Groom, a Groomsman, and a Bridesmaid all speak, plus our MC throughout the night. We spread the speeches across the evening, which made for a great flow.
4. Thoughtful Details: We had custom menus, ribbon name tags, and tambourines as table numbers – nice touches that our guests loved.
5. Cocktail Hour: We splurged on cocktail hour! We had cocktails, canapés, and a sashimi station. Everyone loved it – it was such a fun way to kick off the evening.”
Their first dance was to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. “We love this song – who hasn’t seen 10 Things I Hate About You with Heath Ledger singing it with the marching band? We also liked that the song starts slow and builds to a fun, energetic dance break that everyone could join in for. It made sure the first dance didn’t go on too long!”
Thanks to Wilde Visuals for capturing all of these beautiful moments! Congratulations Jordon and Mark on pulling together this incredible celebration!
