Clean lines, lush greenery, and a modern take on timeless romance – Abbey and Josh’s wedding at Provenance Wines was a lesson in effortless elegance. From her stunning gown to the soft white florals by The Posie Place, every detail was curated with intention. But beyond the styling, their day was rich with heart: a ceremony led by family, personal vows, and a celebration brimming with love and laughter! Captured beautifully by Moniker Berry and La Este Films, this day was all about soaking in every little moment with their nearest and dearest.

While on a night out in Geelong, Abbey ran into Josh, who was in town for the weekend. “Our friendship groups started talking, and I guessed his name was Josh. A month later, I moved to Melbourne for Uni and we finally had our first date at Ikea!”

Josh and Abbey planned a little weekend trip at a tiny house, and within those close quarters, Josh proposed! “It was shared just between us – we went out for dinner afterwards to celebrate.”

Josh and his groomsmen wore timeless suits from Formal Red. After having a not-so-great experience at a local shop, the group tried again at Formal Red and realised how suit shopping should be! “The staff at Formal Red were so friendly and definitely made the suit shopping experience really enjoyable.”

One of Josh’s groomsmen had an old-fashioned Volvo (pictured above) that the guys drove to the wedding in!

Helping Abbey with her makeup was Hair & MUA Emily McGrath, and Abbey is eternally grateful for her expertise! “My morning went so smoothly, and having her do my makeup felt like an old friend was just coming to help out.”

In her wedding party, Abbey had her sister and her two best friends – sticking to the timeless, black theme of the day with their dresses.

Abbey herself wore this incredible Georgia Young gown with beautiful draping details and unique texture. “It was a completely different style to what I thought I would wear, but when I put the dress on, I just knew it was the one! The whole experience at Georgia Young was incredible,” she shared.

Rach from The Posie Place hand-crafted all the timeless florals throughout the day. “She was so accommodating and set up my vision perfectly! I went for simple white florals with a lot of greenery,” Abbey explained.

“We had a beautiful arrangement at the end of the aisle, and my bridesmaids all had single flowers that were made up together to make my bouquet.”

Their timeless wedding took place at Provenance Wines in Fyansford. “It was the first (and then only) venue we ended up going to see. The ceremony space was so beautiful; the food, atmosphere, grounds, and incredible staff were an added bonus! Our events coordinator, Candice, was AMAZING! Everything just fell into place on the day, which is truly all thanks to her!”

Abbey walked down the aisle with her dad on her arm as “I Get To Love You” by Ruelle was sung live by Sounds Of Selah. “Her voice was nothing short of perfect!”

The ceremony was in the beautiful old paper mill, with Josh’s father, who is a Pastor, officiating. “It was really special. Our ceremony was traditional whilst also being personal to Josh and me,” Abbey explained.

“We made sure to include our own personal vows and also worked with Josh’s dad to make sure that our ceremony was very personalised to us, whilst still including all the formal requirements.”

With so many beautiful images, Abbey had a hard time picking her favourite. But when you look as happy as these love birds right after their ceremony, it has to be a clear winner! “In particular, there is one where we have just walked back up the aisle – we are hand in hand, both smiling right at the camera. You can see how happy we both were. There is also one in black and white back in the paper mills, once it was dark – it’s a photo of Josh twirling me around. It’s dark and blurry, but it always gets my attention!”

Moniker Berry was the perfect photographer for Abbey and Josh’s timeless wedding, and Abbey knew that the moment she met her at her sister’s wedding! “She made us both feel so relaxed behind the camera and captured our day beautifully.”

Five things that made this timeless wedding so special to Josh and Abbey included:

“1. Personalised Vows

2. Having Josh’s dad officiate our marriage, and my dad walk me down the aisle.

3. Our speeches – including my dad pulling our big photo cards with photos of me from my childhood – he definitely got a lot of laughs!

4. Our first dance (and getting to practice our first dance together whilst we were getting our photos done)

5. Just the whole day – having everyone there. We could feel the love in the room!”

The piece of advice Abbey and Josh want to leave for future married couples is this: “Enjoy the day because it goes very quickly! We definitely had post-wedding blues once our wedding recovery had ended and all the celebrations were over – we just wanted to do it all again!”

During the reception, it was important for Abbey and Josh to go around and say hello to each and every one of their guests. “It was so important to us to get to talk to everyone there, even if just for a few seconds, to let them know how grateful we were that they came to celebrate this big part of our lives,” they explained.

“We both felt so much love and happiness being in that room, surrounded by our closest family and friends!”

Their first dance was to an acoustic rendition of “Is This Love” by Bob Marley. Once again, it was sung live by their wedding singer, Sounds Of Selah!

Because Abbey and Josh have always loved their gelato dates – they organised a Bianco Latte gelato van to entertain their guests late into the night.

Congratulations, Abbey and Josh, on your timeless wedding! And thanks to Monika Berry for capturing and sharing these beautiful moments.
