Making the most of the spring weather in Sydney, Sanj and Kieran had five wedding events in one week! From their preparation events to their Christian and Hindu ceremonies, this couple spent their wedding week loved-up and surrounded by their friends and families. The vibrant atmosphere across the week was energising, and paired with the incredible views from both their venues, it was magical. Luckily, they had Hello Sweetheart tagging along for the ride to capture each and every special moment.
After meeting at a Law Camp back in their first year of university, Sanj and Kieran have been inseparable ever since. Fast-forward a few years, and Kieran is taking Sanj to Pyrmont for what she thought was just a fancy dinner. One thing Sanj had always made clear was that she didn’t want to be proposed to at a restaurant, so she had her guard down that night.
As Kieran recalls, “I walked Sanj down the wharf and proposed, as a hidden photographer was waiting with a bottle of champagne. Funnily enough, our proposal location was right under what became our wedding venue, which would occur over one year later. Also, funnily enough, our proposal date was 1 April 2022 – April Fools’ Day!”
These beautiful flowers were created by Nunu Floral Designs, perfecting matching the neutral beachy tones of the ceremony.
To begin getting ready for their first ceremony, Sanj prepared her Lehenga. She had always known she would wear the traditional garment, so for their Christian ceremony, she chose a beautiful white Lehenga that she accessorised with traditional Indian jewellery. She had also had her Henna done earlier in the week, ensuring it would last for both ceremonies.
Kieran chose a tan three-piece suit from Bentex for the first ceremony, matching the beachy, neutral atmosphere of their venue. He had two close friends, his cousin, and his brother as his best man in his wedding party. They wore matching suits to Kieran’s but with terracotta ties instead of his white tie.
To take Kieran and his wedding party to their first venue, he really wanted to travel in style – with a G Wagon Limo from RH Wedding Cars. After arriving at the venue, Kieran walked down the aisle with his parents as their wedding trio, Appassionata, played an instrumental rendition of “Touch The Sky” by Kanye West.
Their venue for the Christian ceremony was the romantic Coast Chapel in Little Bay – which they chose after falling in love with the stained glass windows. Sanj’s wedding party walked down the aisle first and included three of her closest friends who wore neutral sarees and her younger brother as her Man of Honour.
Following her wedding party, Sanj walked with her parents to the same trio playing a beautiful instrumental of “Video Games” by Lana Del Ray.
Bekk Humphrey from Hello Sweetheart was the photographer throughout their wedding week and perfectly captured the couple’s vibrant energy. “They were so funny and energetic, and we were so grateful that they made our day so easy. The photos and videos turned out incredible and exceeded our expectations.”
Across the week, Sanj and Kieran had five events to attend, making for an action-packed adventure. “We loved every moment of it because we were constantly surrounded by our best friends and family.”
The five things that made Sanj and Kieran’s wedding extra special were:
“1. Each other
2. Bottles of gin, vodka and Kraken spiced rum on the tables at the reception
3. The Audio Guest Book from Off The Hook which we listened to on our Honeymoon!
4. The dancefloor.
5. The Indian food at the reception and the food stalls at the lunch after the Christian ceremony.”
The following day, they held their Hindu ceremony and reception. For this day, Sanj wanted to divert expectations and tradition and opted out of the traditional red saree. Instead, she chose a beautiful cream-coloured Lehenga with splashes of green, pink, and gold to match Kieran’s emerald green reception suit. Keiran wore a traditional white Shirwani for the ceremony.
The Hindu ceremony and reception were held at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont, giving the couple and their guests an incredible view of the Sydney Harbour. The styling of the ceremony was done to match Sanj’s Lehenga, letting the natural beauty of the harbour shine.
For the reception, they chose a darker, more vibrant colour scheme of red and orange. This is where Kieran changed into his reception outfit—a three-piece emerald green suit. He chose this to match Sanj’s tourmaline engagement ring, which he himself had designed!
Instead of opening the dancefloor with a first dance, Sanj and Kieran hired Bhangra dancers to invite guests to the dance floor. DJ Rubz flew in from Melbourne just for these love birds, bringing life to the dancefloor one song at a time. “The dance floor was epic! We also hired C02 guns and blasted these on the guests when one of our favourite songs played—“Bonkers” by Dizzee Rascal!”
Congratulations, Sanj and Kieran! Your vibrant wedding week was a treat to view, and we’re sure even more fun to experience! Thanks to Hello Sweetheart for submitting it for us to share.
