With Woolbrook Homestead as their setting, Bek and Rory tied the knot surrounded by the ones they love the most. These love birds created a timeless wedding with a party vibe to celebrate their marriage. Morgan from Morgan Lee Photography was behind the lens, capturing the chic beauty of the day.
Bek and Rory hit it off after meeting through their mutual friends at a bar, their relationship blossoming the old-fashioned way. It was during a trip to the Whitsundays with Bek’s sisters that Rory took their relationship to the next level. “Rory & I decided to extend another week for just the two of us. Rory organised the accommodation for the second week and kept it a surprise,” she recalled. “For the second week, Rory had booked a Catamaran to motor around the Whitsunday Islands. He had planned to propose on Whitsunday Island, but after the first day, we motored from the mainland to the first Island at the worst time, so it was a bumpy and terrifying ride, so he decided he’d do it then. As the sun was going down with no one around – it was the best!”
They had decided to keep most of the styling simple, so Rory and his wedding party wore a timeless classic – black suits from Mens Suit Warehouse. His party was made up of his Best Man and four groomsmen.
Woolbrook Homestead was the backdrop for the day and was an accidental find that was an instant love. “It was the perfect mix of timeless and classic. We wanted a venue that we could style and create our (my) vision. We loved there were so many options on where we could hold the ceremony and even the reception – if we wanted it outdoors! It was special being able to stay at the venue with our bridal party and parents as well to wake up together.”
Bek wore a stunning gown from Made with Love that featured a deep V neckline that formed to her curves before flaring out at the knee and trailing behind her. Her wedding party included her Maid of Honour and four bridesmaids. They all wore these beautiful blue dresses from Hansen & Gretel. “I knew we wanted to find a blue dress, and my theme with flowers was milky whites with a touch of blue.”
The colour palette of milky whites and pops of blue was found throughout the day, and the flowers from The Posie Place were no exception. Bek’s bouquet was filled with blue hydrangeas, which her amazing florist had sourced, as well as orchids and white roses. The bridesmaids had a mixture of blue and white hydrangeas to match. The groomsmen wore baby’s breath on their lapels, and Rory wore a white rose to match Bek’s bouquet. The arbour was Bek’s favourite floral arrangement of the day. “Our altarpiece was amazing! This is something I’m so glad we spent a little bit more on. As we were getting married outside around a lot of greenery, I wanted to make sure the whites and blues really came through to pull it all together.”
Walking with her dad on her arm, Bek trekked down the aisle with “All Of Me” by John Legend as her song of choice. The ceremony was simple and filled with love and was led by their celebrant, Yazmine from Weddings By Yazmin. “We wanted it to feel loving, fun and informal.”
Instead of sticking to reception traditions they didn’t want, Bek and Rory opted to switch things up a bit! “We wanted our reception to be fun – instead of a first dance or cutting a cake, we decided to do a Champagne tower!”
All of the styling and planning was done by Bek with the help of her dream team of vendors. With her background in events, she knew she wanted to take charge of everything – from the ceremony design all the way down to the cutlery. “It was so exciting working directly with our vendors to bring the vision to life and to be involved in this as well. It’s all the small details that have the biggest impact,” she explained. “All of our vendors were amazing to work with. They all seamlessly worked together within the space, making the wedding everything I had planned.”
As guests settled into the reception, Bek and Rory took off with their photography team to get some portraits done as the sun set around them. “Morgan and her team were amazing – she knew exactly the style we wanted and knew how to make us feel comfortable to capture photos! I adore our album and video – we’ll forever look back on it and be so glad we picked her team.”
For the reception, Bek changed into her second dress of the day – this beautiful Aston Bridal strapless mini and these incredible pearl-detailed sleeves. That wasn’t the only change she made for the reception, as she also cut her hair post-ceremony! “My cousin is an amazing hairdresser; she was there on the day and did this for me mid-event! It was so fun, and I’m so glad I did it. My second dress was my favourite, and when I changed into it, I also surprised guests with my cut hair to complete the look.”
Rory’s strongest memory of the day wasn’t a single moment but the overall feeling of contentment with how the day went. “The ceremony and the after party – just how the day all came together seamlessly, and it was so fun spending it with all of our closet people in one room.”
Thanks to Morgan Lee Photography for capturing and submitting this timeless wedding for us to share! And a huge congratulations to Bek and Rory for bringing your timeless party wedding to life!
The forest ceremony looked super cool. Also loved the dungeon wine cellar reception, where they ate. Brides dress sections were on point. She knocked it out.
