If you’re a planner at heart and are diving headfirst into lists, schedules or spreadsheets (or a lovely handwritten to-do list), we have excellent news! Did you know you can purchase our downloadable 20 Questions to carry with you as you go? Purchase them here, pop your lovely self into an Officeworks (you can marvel at the pens while you’re there), get printing, and then get your craft hat on. We’re making ourselves some pretty binders which will make planning not only fun but easy too with this PDW’s Wedding Printables Planner DIY Tutorial for The Planning Issue.

What You Will Need:

  • Pop on over to Polka Dot Wedding to peruse the different planning tools you can purchase. Once you’ve selected what will be most helpful to you, you’ll be sent the PDF file which you can print through your home printer, or somewhere like Officeworks
  • Coloured cards, pens, stickers and pencils
  • Scissors, hole punch, ruler and washi tape
  • Ayanna Yarn (has a nice stretch which is forgiving), or coloured twine, string or ribbon.

Step One

Print out your PDF file and revel in your planning prowess. Many pretty pictures! Many helpful questions! Select A3 pieces of card (if you have printed your planning sheets on A4 paper) in the colour of your choice. Fold in half neatly.

Step Two

Use Washi tape to line the inside of the folded card, which will strengthen the card for hole punching. Using a ruler and pencil, mark where you would like to punch holes. You can absolutely do less than we have here! Once you have punched out the holes on the card, slide your printable planning PDF sheets into the card. Using a pencil, mark where the holes are, then punch these out.

Step Four

Using the ayanna yarn, place a small piece of sticky tape around one end to make it easier to thread the yarn through the holes. Starting at one end (while leaving a long ‘tail’), thread the yarn through the holes. When you reach the top, come back down through the holes, tying a neat knot once finished.

Step Five

Remember that crafty hat we mentioned? Now is indeed the time to dust it off and pop it on top of your lovely head, ready to get making! Got some lovely stickers? Use them! Love sketching? Dust off those pencils? Painting? Cricut? Dried flowers? Go wild! Make your new planning folders snazzy in a way that you will love. Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but we’ve got you! Tick off these lists, and you won’t miss a thing.
