Liv and Nad’s fabulous and fun outdoor Spring wedding, captured by Katfoto at Ballara Receptions and Farm Vigano, combined Italian traditions with modern touches, making it the perfect day for them and their loved ones. They chose to have a wedding which reflected them as a couple. As Liv says of the day, “We wanted the wedding ceremony to be light hearted, funny, and super easy to go along. We aren’t super serious people and just love to laugh, so we wanted to incorporate that in the ceremony.”

I was Nad’s boss at the time they met. Nad was on a working holiday visa, and it all went on from there!

We were going on holiday to Queensland, and out on a whim Nad thought it was the most perfect time to propose. He plucked up the courage in Noosa. I was dropping hints about getting engaged all day, at a beautiful restaurant on this platform our table was on, on our anniversary. He got on one knee and proposed!

The style of the wedding was boho. We had flowers with whites, green and browns. The wedding was an outdoor wedding in the middle of Spring, just fun and laid-back vibes.

For flowers, I had gorgeous toffee roses, white roses, white anthurium, orchids, eucalyptus, and bunny tails.

The wedding ceremony was held at Ballara Receptions and reception at Farm Vigano.

I wore a Pronovias dress that was luckily on sale at this one bridal store. I just wanted something lacey but sparkly. I was very emotional and exciting when I knew it was the one.

Nad wore a green MJ Bale suit jacket with light brown pants, and a Peggy And Finn bow tie! Something simple and elegant.

We had 5 of our best friends on either side of us – my sister was my maid of honour.

The requirements for venue were green and vibrant area with amazing food and drinks. We loved the views and photo opportunities at both venues.

The aisle song was “She’s A Rainbow” by The Rolling Stones.

We wanted the wedding ceremony to be lighthearted, funny, and super easy to go along. We aren’t super serious people and just love to laugh, so we wanted to incorporate that in the ceremony.

We had two first dance performances – the main first dance was “Our Song” by Elton John and it was fun and romantic. Our second, was a traditional Italian dance called the “Ribbon Dance” where your loved ones held out ribbons that “tie your love.” We did this to “Everybody Loves Somebody” by Dean Martin.

It was so fun as it was interactive, romantic, and made for some great photos and memories!

We made our own bonbonnieres which was homemade Limoncello.

Some special details we included were, having fun music that we loved, good food and drinks and a fun party vibe for everyone to enjoy!

It was so good to have all my loved ones there and the Italian dances! Also, I wore my Aunt’s veil.

Few moments to remember.. We were about to arrive at the ceremony. I got out of the limo and my dress strap broke! All good though as my sister was extremely prepared and had a needle and thread to fix it! That delayed things a little bit and then of course the music didn’t want to work!

Also, funnily enough my aunt walking my dog down the aisle almost got dragged into the fountain and lake – typical lab!!

And the last bit of laughter is that when we went to take photos at Farm Vigano the grass was completely muddy (lucky we moved the ceremony), but we all just decided to embrace it and go barefoot!

Our photographer, Kat is one of my oldest friends from high school, so it was really special to have someone so close to me who has seen the whole relationship unfold capture all the special moments.

She is fun and easy going and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. Kat will forever be my photographer!

Another vendor who stood out was the florist. My florist August Wildflower – the flowers were just so beautiful, and I was so happy with how they turned out!

Five things which made the wedding special:

  • Having my favourite people stand by me.
  • Having my husband’s family come from England to be there.
  • Our celebrant/DJ Sean Whelan – so fun, and an absolute laugh! Made the whole day!
  • The hilarious speeches.
  • Seeing an echidna and having photos with it!

Don’t ever stop dating your partner! Communication is key – and love wholeheartedly.

Such great advice from Liv. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Spring wedding celebration with Polka Dot You!
