The Something Blue Issue is all about flooding your wedding day with as many soulful and refreshing blue hues as possible. Naturally, that extends to your post-ceremony cocktail hour. When we think big, bold and blue we think ocean-side weddings. And when we think ocean-side cocktails we think lip-smackingly salty-sour Margaritas.

Kirra Beach House has created a blue-as-can-be gin version that heroes oceanic flavours and Papa Salt gin (insert obligatory “that’s Margot Robbie and friends’ new gin!” here). For the rim, we recommend using a salt that features a marine botanical or two. Look for fancy salts for garnishing in gourmet stores or, otherwise, plenty of Australian distillers make them with spent gin botanicals. You can also easily make your own by crushing or blending dry herbs like lemon myrtle into quality sea salt.

As for Kirra Beach House, we’ll introduce them properly in our next round-up of new event venues in Queensland. But, for now, you should know that this dreamy beachside property on the Gold Coast can host celebrations of up to 250 guests. We can almost feel that salty air breezing through our hair already.
