When we get to share a brand new collection from an Australian designer, well it is for sure a good start to the week. Today we’re introducing you to the “Sunny” collection by Olivia Waters Couture and if you’re a lover of wedding gown design that mixes old and new, modern and romantic, classic and whimsical, then settle in, because you’re going to love this one!

Olivia is known for her beautiful couture designs, but “Sunny”? It’s her second made-to-order collection and there are eight beautiful pieces to choose from.

From the two designs that came to Olivia in a dream (“Daisy” and “Elizabeth”) to the polka dot (!) beauty of “Madeline”, each stays true to Olivia’s sense of honouring the old, while designing for the present day. “I knew I wanted to create pieces to suit a variety of occasions and be as versatile as possible..” she shares, “I had the dream of creating something romantic and modern but paying homage to fashions from the past, so modernising silhouettes from decades past seemed ideal considering so much in fashion has already been done before.”

Clearly, our pick is “Madeline” the tea-length and polka dots perfect for not just walking down the aisle. But for a more casual affair or even a pre-wedding party, the old world, simple glamour of “Isabella”, a strapless beauty with a boned bodice and curved neckline. Even “Bailey” a fun jumpsuit, beautifully marries that line of classic design with modern styling.

And not only are the designs beautiful, but they’re also sustainable. Olivia continues her ongoing passion to source fabrics from sustainable sources (the collection features luxurious Mikado, sustainable satins and crepes, sustainable tulles and stunningly soft faille) but also creates designs that ensure minimal wastage once cut.

And if the above ticks all your wedding day attire boxes? (as we know it does!) scroll on to see the beautiful images. The campaign was captured by photographer Allie Claire Creative and Down the Road Weddings. Floral designer Aster & Sage creates a beautiful floral backdrop, and the look is completed by hair and makeup artist Shebie of Linea of the Yarra Valley and accessory designer Royal Folk Studio.
