We give you all kinds of ideas here at Polka Dot Wedding – how to use pastels, how to use endless colour, how to style a wedding this way and that. But today? We’re stepping into the present time, into an urban world where lines are clean and minimal, where flowers are textural and lush, where candlelight is aplenty, and where there isn’t much to do, but revel in the beauty and celebrate.

The venue we speak of? The modern, the beautiful The Lussh. With Daniel Chafer, our dream team – with stylist and floral designer Ivy & Bleu at the helm, created two beautiful, modern looks. One white with pops of bright, almost tropical colour, the other a little more modern pastel classic. White on white layered across both tables and flowers. Share the team “Being a city venue we choose a modern romantic style. Modern romance is a contemporary take on traditional romanticism. It is characterised by a focus on the couple, a celebration of diversity and a focus on self-expression.”

Long tables, white bentwood chairs, modern backdrops and arched-shaped pieces from AVIdeas, and complementary stationery pieces designed by Lily Maree Designs, knitting every element together. Model Lauren Dainton, accompanied by Zane Howe play the newlyweds. The pair in classic black tie glam, Lauren donning two beautiful White Lily Couture gowns, complete with accessories, her hair swept into waves and a modern ponytail by Tribe Hair to complete her neutral-toned makeup styled by Juliana Cruz.

It is that beautiful blend of timeliness, romance and modern-day style, and it’s exactly what the team wanted to bring to life. “The inspiration behind our work was to create a timeless and romantic look with a modern touch. A style that reflects the space and will stand the test of time.” Scroll on for your touch of modern romance!
