We love colour, we love anything bright and we love fun, so when you combine them all? It’s a special kind of magic. Today, we’re in Toowoomba, with a dream team that was inspired by the vision of an urban elopement.

Says photographer Amy (of Amy Philp Weddings) who dreamt up this one alongside florist and stylist Emily Beutel Weddings and Events,“We talked about downsizing the shoot concept to something that was easy to pull together in a short timeframe and the idea of an Inner City Elopement was born. Emily developed a punchy colour palette that would absolutely shine against an urban backdrop of concrete and sandstone and carried that contrast through into the table styling and event space.”

The rooftop at George Banks Rooftop Bar & Bistro is set with a long tale, candles, stationery (designed by September Creative) and florals in vivid lilac, watermelon pink, coral oranges, reds and magentas. Says florist Emily, “‘I adore seasonal blooms for their beautiful array of colours, so when Amy Philp Photography approached me about putting together a styled shoot I was totally on board. I wanted to present something edgy and different to what I normally get asked to create. The floral recipe was inspired by what was blooming in the patch at Stemz Flower Farm at Oakey when I walked the rows the day before the shoot. The bouquet for this shoot would have to be one of my all-time favourites. I love how vibrant and edgy it is without losing that whimsical garden charm.”

And the fun was just beginning, with a custom, purple-hued cocktail, entitled “Purple Rain”,  a glorious gold leaf, berry topped heart-shaped beauty of a cake by Cakehouse by Katrina Allen. And wait till you hear what was inside! A dark chocolate cake with milk ganache, salted chocolate buttercream, fresh raspberries & toasted hazelnuts. What an actual dream.

And for attire? Fresh and fun. Short dresses, coloured suits! “There has been a lingering trend of magenta pink taking centre stage and I wanted to present something a little different and new, hence the bright orange heel as a focal point.”  And with those bright orange heels? Our model Megan Buckley (accompanied by Tyrone) wore pieces from Oui The Label via Three Sisters Bridal and Peter Jacksons and had their looks completed by makeup artist Tyneale Hahn Makeup Artist and hairstylist The Hair Artist Collective – Cassie. The result? Two fun, modern looks that embraced the intimate, fun wedding vibes.

Heart and Soul Media topped it off with a film that captured every whimsical moment!
