Dramatic yet beautiful the Spring 2023 collection from Theia Couture is a sight to behold and behold we will, because what better way to spend a Monday than surrounded by beautiful design such as this?

The Spring 2023 collection draws its inspiration from the photography work of  Georgia O’Keeffe and her work, “Mother of American Modernism”. The works, which use a series of Irises as their focus, were also the inspiration of photographer Eva Grall.

Our favourite, “Onyx” is a white short mini dress. The slip style silhouette is complete with fringed beading for plenty of movement. More classic in style is “Garnet” a bustier bodice gown with a beautiful a-line skirt made of beautiful floral lace. Modern gown adorers want to check out “Beryl? With its double straps and deep v neck neckline, the crepe simple and sleek against the wearer’s shape.

The gowns take that dramatic depth, the angular nature, and combine them with organic whimsy, while staying true to Theia Couture’s dreamy yet dramatic designs. There are soft cowl necks, contour seaming, Tromp L’oeil necklines,  marble beaded embroidery and even Watteau trains. The gowns are chic and sophisticated, but always a little unexpected.
