When Stella and Angus decided, between Melbourne lockdowns to get married, they decided there was no time like the present. The pair picked a stunning Autumn day to wed with just a few guests and the vineyards and clifftops as their backdrop.
Photographer My Scandi Style was a key decision for these two, with Stella’s family being far away and unable to attend, the photos one of the ways they shared their day with their favourite people. Says Angus “We didn’t have a huge amount of planning to do in any respect, but it was a great feeling after having completed organising everything from the venue, to what we were going to wear and our cake!”
If a simple understated day, that focuses on each other is what you’d dream of, take all your inspiration from these two!
Stella who wore a classically elegant gown from Melbourne boutique The Sposa Group chose to make her own bouquet, tells Angus. “Stella chose to source her flowers for the wedding, keeping it simple but classy with roses and complementary green foliage.”
Angus wrote a blue suit from Dom Bagnato, noting “I simply chose a suit with colours I liked, that I felt comfortable in, and that Stella approved of!”
Stella and Angus made an occasion of their wedding, opting to marry at Mornington Peninsula venue Jackalope Hotels. “The ceremony was held in the Geode, a very unique small multipurpose function room at Jackalope Hotel” explains Angus. “Dinner was at Doot Doot Doot restaurant, an amazing restaurant at Jackalope with an amazing ceiling covered with hundreds of light globes. We loved spending the lead-up and the aftermath of our day at the venue together in the Lair. We had a great view over the winery at Jackalope.”
As with everything about this wedding, Stella and Angus opted for a short and sweet ceremony, with Charis White proceeding. Angus sharing “We wanted it to be short but intimate and meaningful. We kept it under 10 minutes and included words about our family, friends and each other. It was short but sweet.”
Post ceremony, the newlyweds wandered in the vineyards for photographs. “Kelly did a great job in capturing both the group and portrait-style photos of us and our friends and family, along with the more impromptu natural moments in between” notes Angus. “We were really glad to have chosen her to cover the day. We were really happy with our photographer Kelly, our videographer Vincent and our celebrant Charis.”
Angus shares this advice “Don’t overthink it and stress yourself out! Relax and enjoy the day!”
Time for champagne anyone? This is the moment that captured Angus’ favourite photograph of the day. “My favourite photo of the day was taken at Flinders cliffs when we opened a bottle of champagne. The sun was low in the sky and it was a wonderful end to the daylight before we headed off for dinner.”
Congratulations Stella and Angus! Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. Thank you to you both and thank you to My Scandi Style for sharing today’s beautiful day with us!
