If you ask us, regional Australia does not get nearly enough love when it comes to weddings. Take beautiful Bendigo, for example. the setting of Em & Remi’s stunning engagement photos. We think this sweet town deserves a heck of a lot more love than it gets! So luckily for us, we have regional photographer Weddings Captured By Peta on our team helping us shine a spotlight on just how beautiful country Australia really is.

Em and Remi have been together for over a decade (they’re planning to tie the knot next year!) and admit their relationship was a complete family and friends set up. “Both of us had mutual friends that thought we would make a great match,” explains Em, “So someone did the asking and a first date was on the cards!”

Almost nine years later, it seems there were plenty of hints to encourage Remi to propose, Em explaining “We became engaged after they we been together for ages and spoke many times about getting married one day.

After a year or more of having our own home, I started throwing hints. When that didn’t seem to get me anywhere, not going to lie, I upped the ante. Not just me, but our family and friends all put the pressure on Rem to pop the question. He did, in his own time of course & after nine years we were finnnaallly engaged. One morning,  he, accompanied me out with my horse. He brought me back breakfast AND a ring after I finished my ride (which is my absolute favourite thing to do). Even though I’d been hinting, it was still a big surprise! My favourite  morning by far!”

Remi’s favourite thing about Em? “That Em is really kind, and does so many things selflessly for me”. Em adding “I love how he is always willing to go out of his way, and run the extra mile to help me ( whether I need it or not!)”

Peta encourages these to take some time out for their engagement session, she explains  “These two mentioned to me that they both enjoyed being away from the hustle + bustle, towards the mountains so we found a range close to home and took photos there. I think that they worked beautifully with the outfits they choose (coincidentally the coldest day so far this winter when it was blowing a gale!).

Says Em “We poke with Peta about an engagement shoot and she had me super excited about it from the get-go! For the time that Rem and I have been together, we don’t have all that many photos to show. He isn’t the biggest fan of having his picture taken, although you wouldn’t know it with what Pete was able to capture. We both adored Peta’s enthusiastic and positive attitude. She made the shoot super fun and engaging and left us with precious memories to hold onto. We can’t wait to work with Peta again down the track.”
