It was during a golden sunset in Coolum, that Deb and Steel met with wizard photographer Adriana Watson for their engagement session. A story that began online, on none other than Instagram. “A mutual friend posted a photo of me on her Instagram,” remembering Deb. “Steele started ‘following’ me and liking my photos but would never actually message me. So one Oktoberfest I built up enough liquid courage to drunk direct message Steele. The rest is history!

And many moons later, on Steel’s birthday, it was then, he decided to pop the big question. “We were back in Steele’s hometown for his birthday, it was his birthday morning and we’d just had breakfast with the family then gone swimming” says Deb. “We went back into the room we were staying in (his childhood bedroom) then Steele sat me down and asked me to marry him. Smart move because I couldn’t say no on his birthday, could I?”

Says Deb “We trusted the talented Adriana Watson to choose our location based on our vibe and her experience shooting around the Sunshine Coast area. Lucky we did, because the photos turned out amazing. Adriana made us feel so comfortable. She was so easy to work with, even Steele who is a bit camera shy felt extremely comfortable enough to start enjoying the shoot!”

“Too many funny stories to count!” says Deb when asked what funny relationship stories these two have to share. “Our main ones revolve around the fact that I’m constantly giving Steele the wrong directions on road trips, so that has got us lost a lot of times.”

Says Deb “We love that we are complete opposites in just about every way. Yet our differences complement each other so well and we offer each other a different perspective of life.”
