Amrita & Campbell
“We really wanted to get married, and due to Covid-19, we couldn’t have a wedding. But that didn’t stop us.” Sparkles, Autumn leaves, views that take your breath away- could there be a more amazing combination for an elopement than this?
Amrita and Campbell included all this and more, at their wedding during the height of Australia’s pandemic. Able to only have their celebrant and witnesses present, the bride explains “We chose to elope instead so we could start our married lives together. While it didn’t go to plan due to covid restrictions, it was really intimate and really meaningful to us both which is what matters in the end.” The couple choosing Elopement Collective. “It was super easy with the Elopement Collective despite the difficulty of covid restrictions”, to pull the entire thing together, and Lauren Campbell “she was amazing – incredibly talented and put us both at ease” to make sure every moment was captured.
And while Amrita says “We don’t have a special story.” As believers in love, I think we beg to disagree! She shares “We met on Tinder in 2014, engaged 2019 and married 2020.” Campbell popping the question in the very same place the couple had their first dance (see, romantic!).
Amrita and Campbell chose the Blue Mountains for their wedding, but the exact location was kept a total surprise. “We knew the location was in the Blue Mountains, but the Elopement Collective chose the specific spot and the first time we saw the location was when we showed up on the day. It was breathtaking. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. It was like walking into a dream.”
Josh Withers made it official. “Josh completed a short but meaningful ceremony” notes the bride. “We both wrote our own vows and that was it. Short, sweet and totally us.”
Amrita chose a sparkling gown from Asos. “It was peach and full of sequins which made me so happy.” She explains “I loved how they sparkled in the setting sun.” Campbell purchased his suit from David Jones.
“Don’t stress about things you can’t control” advises the bride. “Even if things don’t go to plan, the important thing is your marriage and each other. Turns out you really can get married to the love of your life in the middle of a global pandemic!”
“The day was all about the two of us” says Amrita. “Given the situation – in the very height of covid restrictions and lockdown, our plans had to change, but it all turned out magically.”
Amrita’s bouquet honoured the season, she shares, which was styled by Floral Ink. “Elopement Collective arranged the flowers. Floral Ink did an amazing job tying into the autumnal colours and matching with my dress.”
The newlyweds celebrated together with a romantic dinner in their AirBnB.
A big thanks to Lauren Campbell alongside Amrita and Campbell for so generously sharing today’s story with us!
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I’m not crying, you are!!
