My name is Ms Polka Dot and I am pretty much in love with the brand new collection from Canadian designers Halseene. Because this brand? They believe every single body deserves to “feel confident, beautiful & uplifted on their wedding day” and that’s why their gowns? They’re available in sizes 14-40 (and that’s just to start!).

Which in itself makes Halseene a brand worth celebrating, because curvy and plus-sized gowns? This is their bread and butter. So they’re not creating a collection you see now and then, or that only has a tiny range of gowns. Nope, these guys have eight beautiful gowns available in their debut collection and they’ve got big dreams ahead!

The debut collection is named after one of the brand’s favourite curvy muses – and the gowns are full of on-trend style. There’s golden glitter trains (noted on mermaid-style “Paloma”), floral adorned organza. There’s low back silhouettes (like “Lydia”), midriff cut outs (on strapless gown “Julia”) v necklines and centre slits. These are made true to the brand’s vision of a dress shopping experience being  “positive and exciting, where size does not dictate style.”

I will forever applaud a brand who works hard to be this inclusive and cannot wait to see what Halseene does next!
