Nicole & Matthew

The Colour Issue has brought to life a kaleidoscope of colour and the beautiful wedding of Nicole and Matthew is no exception. From a  grey, coastal day, these two injected their story with bright and beautiful bursts of colour, a reflection not only of their vibrant personalities but of the joy they felt at the day of utter celebration. The blooms were incredible (poppies are always a favourite after all), the story romantic and the photography by Figtree Pictures the most beautiful way to tell it all.

“It was an absolute dream dress.” says the bride of her gorgeous gown from Made With Love.

Can we adore that bouquet any more? Especially contrasted with the hydrangea blue of those Oleg Cassini gowns!) The beautiful bloom arrangements on the day were styled by Pollen Weddings. Nicole noting  “This was possibly one of the easiest parts of planning a wedding. I chose to deal with Brit from Pollen Weddings and would do it time and time again. After seeing her work I knew I would love whatever she created. The only guide I gave her was colourful, different textures, unstructured and she came up with a masterpiece that people are still talking about.”

The groom chose a mid-blue suit for his look from Reuben F Scarf, his groomsmen donning navy suits to complement the tones of blue.

The couple chose the beautiful Osteria for both their ceremony and reception, telling “Osteria just had the perfect vibe we were looking for, the moment we walked in, we knew that was the best option for us. We loved that once our guests arrived, they could stay in the same place and enjoy the day just as much as we did.”

The bride walked down the aisle with her father to Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know”.

Nicole and Matthew chose Ann Dally to bring their vision for their ceremony to life, sharing “We decided early on that we wanted a happy/humorous ceremony but full of love and Ann Dally our celebrant couldn’t have fit that picture any better. There was some light hearted-ness that gave everyone a few giggles but we also had some very emotional moments that included surprising our mums with specially made glass roses and a poem about how special they are to us and a beautiful reading from Matt’s two sisters.”

Nicole and Matthew loved their photographer Alie, especially for her wise wedding day advice! The bride explaining “Alice from Figtree photography was amazing. The week coming up to our wedding it was raining on and off all week and I woke up on our wedding day with pouring rain. As soon as Alice turned up she told me the rain was going to go away and to not even worry about it and if it’s cloudy, it makes for better pictures.

And she was right. The rain stopped an hour or so before the wedding and it didn’t rain again on us all day/night so someone was definitely looking down on us that day, we were so blessed.”

The day was not without special traditions, tells the bride. “I had my poppy’s wedding ring tied onto my bouquet and I was wearing my something blue – my nanna’s blue sapphire ring on my right hand.”

As the sunset, guests were invited inside where long tables were set for a dinner reception.

“Our favourite detail had to be the romantic lighting in our reception space” remembers the bride. “We filled it with so much love and it really was such a special moment for us to just sit back and see everyone we love having a good time.”

The couple danced their first dance, under the inky night sky to “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice as their friends and family surrounded them with sparklers.
A big congratulations to you both Nicole and Matthew! Thank you for sharing your stunning day with us. And thank you to the crew at Figtree Pictures for sharing today’s gorgeous images.
