Carlie & Ben

We are lucky to live in a country with amazing backdrops like the Flinders Ranges and for Carlie and Ben, who joined Laurence Gibbs to capture their engagement photographs, there really couldn’t have been a better spot.

In fact, this epic backdrop? The idea of photographer Laurence, who suggested the spot to Carlie. “I always love a good adventure”  tells our bride to be. “I hadn’t been to the Flinders Ranges before so I was down!” And can we just talk about how amazing the backdrop makes these photos? Breathtaking!

It was at work that Carlie and Ben first met, the couple both working in programs for youth, Ben asking Carlie for coffee led to something so much more.

Ben and Carlie had discussed an engagement many times before, to the point where Carlie knew even down to the scene Ben would set. But he still managed to surprise her! She tells “Ben always told me he would propose on the beach (I said I would say no if he did that as its kinda cliche in my mind) so the night before he proposed, he got down on one knee and looked like he was about to propose…. he told me he loved me instead though! The next morning, we attempted to go hot air ballooning (tip- don’t hinge your proposal on that as it’s rather unreliable), then Ben took me to the park where we had first shared that we loved each other and we had a cute ol’ picnic! Was nice to have the entire day to celebrate and spend time together after that too.”
