It’s New Year’s Eve, and around these parts, that means just one thing! We countdown the celebrity weddings of the year that was  (See our previous year’s countdowns here). We’ve rounded up just ten of the celebrations we’ve loved to watch unfold – from intimate candlelight weddings to more traditional weddings with everyone invited. In no particular order, here are the ones we watched this year!

Steph Claire Smith & Josh Miller

Being an Aussie website, we, of course, had to include the very recent wedding of Steph Claire Smith & Josh Miller. The pair, who wed on a Victoria county farm, invited their guests to wear warm neutrals, in keeping with their wedding colour palette, Their outdoor ceremony where Steph wore a two-piece gown by One Day Bridal, followed by a gorgeous marquee reception, where the bride changed to a slip style One Day Bridal gown with cut out detail and sneakers. The groom dressed in a black linen suit by Oscar Hunt.

In the beautiful English town of York, singer Elle Goulding tied the knot to boyfriend Caspar Jopling in September 2019. The bride wore four! beautiful wedding gowns, designed by everyone from Stella McCartney to Ralph & Russo and Chloe gown with a stunning high neck and embroidered sleeves for the ceremony, held at York Minster Cathedral. The bride arrived in a deep blue VQ van, and after the ceremony, a star-studded reception unfolded at luxurious Castle Howard.

Marrying in the beautiful south of France, Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas celebrated their second (the first, a Las Vegas I do) tying of the knot surrounded by family and friends.  The bride wore a custom-designed long-sleeve gown by Louis Vuitton that is said to have taken 350 hours to craft. Guests celebrated in a beautiful reception at a French Estate.

When WAFL player Moana Hope tied the knot to Isabella Carlstrom, it was a grey, wintery Melbourne day. But that didn’t stop the brides, Moana, who wore a chic black suit from Effie Katz and Isabella who chose a modern Toni Maticevski gown, from enjoying every beautiful moment. The pair chose a friend’s Toorak home for their intimate celebration, A reception- there the brides both changed into custom outfits, also by Effie Katz – lasted until dawn.

We know this one scraped into 2018, but we’re claiming it in our 2019 roundup anyway! With a wedding veil, that was show-stoppingly beautiful at 75 feet long, Priyanka worked with Ralph Lauren on her wedding gown, worn as she wed Nick Jonas in an outdoor ceremony in India, led by the groom’s father.

It was just part of the couple’s jam-packed three-day wedding. filled with plenty of traditional festivities.

Singer Michelle Branch wed Patrick Carney in beautiful New Orleans in April. The singer (and Black Keys drummer) choosing an intimate candlelight ceremony with their children present. The historic Marigny Opera House played host to the occasion, guests moving between floors as the day unfolded. The bride chose a romantic gown by Temperley London.

Second weddings seem to be a bit of a trend for celebrities because when Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin tied the knot in South Carolina, it was the second time! The pair, who married at a courthouse in September 2018, went for something a little more luxe, a little more grand for their second wedding. The bride chose a slim fit gown designed by Virgil Abloh and Off-White  to match her husband’s classic black tuxedo. The gown just one of three she wore for the occasion. Guests dined at long tables lit with taper candles, under a beautiful installation of greenery.

After a prior California ceremony, model  Heidi Klum wed Tom Kaulitz in a Capri, Italy wedding in August. The wedding, held on a luxurious yacht, saw the bride dressed in a beautiful Valentino gown, as the couple said their vows surrounded by their children.

We know Christina Mourad & Elie Saab Jr., aren’t typical celebrities, but we just had to include the bride’s, of course, Elie Saab designed wedding gown (and aquamarine coloured after-party gown) for the three-day celebration the couple held in Beirut. The amazing gown came complete with a 4.5-metre train, Swarovski crystals and took 12 artisans 450 hours to create.

Charlotte Casiraghi & Dimitri Rassam

The granddaughter of Grace Kelly, Charlotte Casiraghi wed beau Dimitri Rassam in a grand (yes second) wedding ceremony outside of the French town of St. Remy de Provence. The bride, who chose a stunning Giambattista Valli designed gown. The couple wedding earlier in Monaco’s grand palace.
