We wanted to make sure we covered everything “green” for The Green Issue, so today, we’re taking the time to introduce you to someone who knows this very issue very well. Meet Wear Your Love, a  sustainable design label producing beautiful organic wedding gowns!

The ethos behind the brand is simple, to allow not just the Wear Your Love team, but their clientele, you as brides, to be part of the solution, saving the earth, instead of the problem.

And they do this in three very crucial ways – each gown is handmade for their wearer, ethically and sustainable in California by the team in safe and well-paid working environments – despite repeated requests for offshore manufacturing.

The gowns themselves made from the basis of fabrics of organic cotton and eco-friendly bamboo and natural fabrics included in each gown. And then thirdly, they’re aiming to be zero-waste by 2020, the brand currently donating, their remnants donated to local pre-schools to reuse in their own crafting fun. This is just part of the brand’s commitment to be zero waste by 2020.

And with this consciousness in mind, designer and founder Jillian have designed beautiful, completely on trend gowns that embody these principles while still being beautiful modern for her clients to feel comfortable in on their wedding day. The gowns featuring beautiful detail like long sleeves, cut out backs, sweeping trains and beautiful, movable silhouettes that aren’t stiff or traditional.

And it’s this marrying of style and sustainability that drives what Jillian sets out to do each day.  “In our vision, a wedding is a chance for a couple to express who they are, what they love, and what they want their lives together to be.”
