I am a little bit beyond smitten with the beauty of today’s Australian desert elopement inspiration shoot. The tones of beautiful bright orange, autumnal browns and the bright pop of teal, contrasting with the decadent lace, velvet textures are utterly stunning together and make something completely different. The boho details – lush, loose florals, a macrame style gown combine with the modern hexagon and its clean lines for a completely chic look.
With Wolf & Wildflower behind the camera and The Mountain Folk Films capturing it all in motion, the team took to the (three stories high!) sand dunes of Anna Bay in Newcastle for their summer backdrop.
Floral designer 1969 Floristry was also behind the collaboration, pulling together floral arrangements in tones of teal, and a rich burnt orange to create the bohemian, modern style.
Says photographer Rebecca “We both always wanted to do a shoot out in the local sand dunes, as it’s literally like being out in the desert, and you can see sand for miles. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the dunes and not been able to witness the most stunning sunsets.”
Real life engaged couple Kayla Collins and Daniel Porter acted as our bride and groom. Kayla dressed in a stunning cream macrame inspired gown designed by Zolotas Australia while Daniel was dressed by Rundle Tailoring in velvet, mismatched pieces. Kayla’s look was complete with natural makeup by Megan Bertos and easy waves by Bianca-Lee Iuliano topped with a fresh floral crown.
