Georgie & Tim

After meeting at a college dress up party, it was a rainy summer’s day that set the scene for Georgia and Tim’s rustic wedding. Filled with handmade details, the day unfolded in a way that, despite the rain, was beautiful. Georgie & Tim and so evidently represented not only their love for one another, but they’re treasuring of their very favourite people. We’re so thrilled Joel of Ava Me Photography was there to capture it all!

It was on holiday that Tim popped the age-old question, Georgie remembering “Tim and I had been living in London and had resigned from our jobs and went travelling for a few months before returning to Australia. It was Tim’s birthday and we hiked up to the incredible Trolltunga in Norway. We had birthday celebrations for Tim and then hiked a little further on where we were alone and he dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him.”

The day was filled with handmade touches, the bride and her family styling the floral arrangements, wedding decor and signage together for the day.

Georgie created her own custom look for the day, pairing a lace ivory  Wendy Makin top she found at Marry Me Bridal with a crepe silk skirt designed by  Rachel Gilbert from David Jones.

Georgia walked down the aisle to Jack Dawson singing a version of Vance Joy’s “Georgia”.

Georgia and Tim chose Waldara Farm for their wedding the venue providing a woodshed for their intimate, rustic wedding ceremony, which took place under a wooden arch built by Tim himself.

Georgia & Tim were married by Jenny McCarron, Georgie sharing “Our ceremony was our favourite part of the day. It is the most special moment seeing each other and standing together at the altar and seeing our closest family and friends. Tim’s sister read ‘The Places You’ll Go’ by Dr Seuss and my brother read “He’s not perfect’ by Bob Marley. During our signing our great friends Rosie and Jack sang ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ by Elton John and we walked out to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ Jon Boden, Sam Sweeney and Ben Coleman.”

Of her favourite photo of the day, Georgie tells “I love the photo of us walking away from the house chatting and laughing.”

Of their photographer, Georgie notes “Joel Mailo was brilliant. Professional and relaxed. His photos were wonderful.”

The newlyweds hosted their guests in the onsite barn, guests seated at five long tables.

Rain did certainly not dampen these speeches!

The handmade touches even extended to the wedding cake, the rose topped beauty made by a friend of the couple.

The newlyweds debuted on the dance floor to “Hooked On a  Feeling” by Blue Swede performed by their live band, Pocket Dogs.

A big congratulations Georgia & Tim! Thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us! Thank you also to Ava Me Photography for sharing today’s beautiful wedding!
