Jane’s surprise Brisbane proposal went off with a bang – quite literally! With Tin popping the question amidst an incredible fireworks display. Today Jane tells us all about her romantic proposal.

“Tin and I have known each other since high school however it wasn’t until we were reintroduced by our best friends, Donna and Somah, in our early 20s that things started to blossom. We started dating and knew this was something special, I would always be so excited to see him and we would both always try to prolong our time together on our dates.

Although Tin is usually not much of a planner, he organised an unforgettable proposal on my 27th birthday with a little help from my 4 best friends. What I thought was a surprise girl’s dinner turned out to be surprise engagement with 50 of our closest family and friends. The girls blindfolded me and led me down a path where Tin and our friends where quietly waiting.

When we arrived I heard fire crackers. I screamed and removed my blindfold to see my fiancé on one knee in front of a custom firework banner reading ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME JANE’. Tin hugged me and said ‘there are many ways to be happy in life but all I need is you’. With tears streaming down my face, I said YES!

A symphony of fireworks then erupted from the river. After all the emotion Tin led us inside to another surprise. He had organised a sit down 3 course dinner with white roses and candles scattered around the room. As it was my birthday Tin and the girls arranged a cake with a topper to match my engagement ring. I can safely say it was one of the best nights of my life.

Following this romantic surprise proposal, Jane and Tin later married at the very same venue this proposal took place at, Brisbane’s Victoria Park with Celebrant Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants.
