Anna & Brendan
It was over a love of Pink Floyd that Anna and Brendan first connected. “We met via a dating app where we both had listed that we liked Pink Floyd on our profiles” tells Anna. “We messaged back and forth for about a week and then decided to meet at the Spanish Fly tapas restaurant in Randwick.. The conversation flowed so easily that we lost track of time and the restaurant closed up around us.”
It was some time later, in Central Park New York City that their connection was confirmed, Brendan making a ring out of a one dollar bill, a matching origami box hiding the engagement ring for Anna.
The beautiful architecture of Cell Block Theatre coupled with photographer Florent Vidal laid the foundation for their woodland city wedding – a day that was filled with flowers, greenery and nods to their own personal style and loves.
Anna chose Peter Trends to design her strapless lace wedding gown, telling “It was a combination of two of their designs, the top half of one dress and the bottom of another. I really didn’t suit all white so Monique found one of their dresses with a latte coloured fabric with white lace overlay. I fell in love with fabric combination and the fitted transparent bodice but liked the skirt part of another dress. Monique was fantastic and custom designed the two dresses into the perfect dress.”
Anna and Brendan met before their ceremony for a first look, the groom to be choosing his naval uniform for the pre-ceremony fun. Anna remembering “Spending time together before the ceremony meant that we weren’t nervous about it and could actually take it all in and remember.”
The floral arrangements, styled by The Wilds featured beautiful dahlias. Shares the bride “I just loved bouquets I’d seen with Dahlias and was blown away with the size of the ones that Kitty from The Wilds sourced for us. The deep burgundy colours were perfect mixed in with the natives.”
“My sister had previously used Florent Vidal for her wedding so I knew how he worked and the quality of his work” tells Anna of their photographer. She continues “It was such a pleasure to have Florent document our day, he was discrete and captured all the real moments between us and our guests.”
Anna and Brendan chose Cell Block Theatre for their ceremony and reception, the bride to be walking down the aisle with her father to Kusanagi by Odesza.
Of their ceremony, Anna tells “We wanted it to be relaxed, intimate, short and sweet so we could get on with celebrating with our families and friends.”
Anna and Bredan celebrated with their guests at the beautiful Cell Block Theatre. telling “We chose this venue as we loved the architecture and freedom to make the space whatever we wanted!”
Anna tells “Our wonderful friends Ali and Dan made our Polaroid guest book with our names routed into the Plywood.”
Guests have transported to a woodland wonderland thanks to floral designer The Wilds. Anna explaining “Our wedding was relaxed but visually stunning with beautiful flowers and foliage everywhere. Kitty really understood our vision and delivered above and beyond.”
For their first dance, the bride remembers “We chose a Pink Floyd song, Learning to Fly, as this was the song that first brought us together when we began chatting on the dating app.”
“It was just such a fun night sharing the celebrations with our families and friends. I just remember waking up the next morning with sore cheeks from smiling so much, which can’t be a bad thing!” tells Anna.
A big congratulations to the newlyweds! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous day with us! Thank you also to Florent Vidal for sharing today’s celebration!
