If there is one thing we’re set to discover during The Winter Issue, it’s how incredibly beautiful winter weddings are. But let’s face facts – they can also be utterly freezing. And while there is not much worse than overheating on your wedding day, the opposite is also true. Who wants to freeze and lose all feeling?

So from leather jackets to boleros, capes and coats – we’ve put together a list of eleven fun and cosy ideas to keep you warm and snuggly on your wedding.

1. Go For LeatherCustom leather Jacket For Weddings

The most fun of wedding trends has been the leather jacket, This one is from Hide & Rose who customise their jackets with your own words. The fun, edgy cover up is one that will not only last the test of time but is rather fun. When else can you customise a leather jacket for something as fun as a wedding?

2. Cape That!

There is not much that is more dramatic than a show-stopping cape. Not to mention the added warmth it brings. Capes have become a stunning alternative to the traditional veil, but I also love this idea to keep oneself warm during winter weddings.

3. Double Down In Denim

If leather is perhaps not your style, what about denim? The fun, light denim jackets that came to life last year were a great option to don over a wedding dress. This one from One Day Bridal proved a clear favourite!

4. Wrap It Up

I love the classic wrap alternative to a jacket. Think something soft and lush, or even a pashmina for something warm and easy. I love this look over any silhouette, but there is something about it with a ballgown that speaks of old-world glamour.

5. Make A Statement

On your wedding day, you are the statement, so why not find an incredibly beautiful statement jacket to keep you warm? This one gives a nod to trumpet sleeves but has a vintage elegance to it. Choose a piece that stands out and makes a statement – why not?

6. Faux For Fur

Faux fur coats have to win the award for the softest snuggliest option. While bridal white or cream is an obvious choice, I love the idea of deep jewel-toned pieces for a wedding too – especially in a similar colour tone to your wedding.

7. Fab In Feathers

Fun feathers give beautiful texture to a wedding day look – plus they’re soft and utterly cozy! The idea of a bolero keeps your shoulders warm but arms free and somehow beautifully suits this feathered fabric.

8. Beautiful Bomber

The bomber jacket is such a fun idea for a wedding day coverup and one for the brides who want something a little more fun than a traditional wrap. I love the idea of something in pink for a nod to the pink ladies of Grease, but bridal white with metallic detail? Add this to the “Definitely can be worn again” list!

9. Cute Cardi

If you want your dress to shine, then a cardigan? It’s a brilliant option. I love the idea of choosing a hue you love and making sure the chosen knit is soft and fluffy (I love a mohair cardigan for the coldest of days). This look gives a certain vintage silhouette I love.

10.  Coat It Up

For the coldest of occasions, a coat might just have to do. I do love the idea of a stunning, sophisticated coat in cream or white for something incredibly elegant. Plus warmth factor? 10/10!
