It was the age of yesteryear and post-war celebrations that inspired today’s dream team to make magic at a beautiful country homestead in the middle of a stunning autumn season. Screen siren and singer Dorothy Lamour was the ultimate vision in mind, as the vintage mood wove its way through every part of this collaborative wedding editorial.
The beautiful country house of Orchards At Springvale Farm set the scene for photographer Megan Aldridge, hair and makeup artist Vivian Ashworth and model Georgia Macaulay of Bella Management as they took the beautiful homestead as their stage.
The team noted, “With the venue slowly turning golden for autumn we wanted to show how brides can look beautiful even in as the weather turns, so styling looks for rain and chill are also included. The team agree autumn is a magical wedding season as the leaves break into a sunset of colour plus it’s a time when the madness of summer subsides so a wedding can be the full focus for yourself and guests.”
Georgia, dressed in incredible vintage-inspired gowns from Gwendolynne, jewels from Stephanie Browne and Richard Nylon (along with a sparkling copper belt from Alexi Freeman) took hold of the vintage-inspired look. She donned deconstructed victory rolls in her hair, with beautiful screen siren inspired makeup, drawing from Dorothy’s own glowing, bronzed makeup style complete with cat eye and bright, popping with colour lips.
Floral designer Thrive Flowers & Events created a beautiful autumnal bouquet in tones of pink, burgundy and plum with David Austin Roses, Queen Anne’s Lace, Thistle, Dahlia, Amanraths, Tillandsia and Dusty Miller, complete with feathers adding a beautiful detail to the day.
The other detail we adore? The appearance of Duncan the Orchard Poodle, who was the perfect accessory to the shoot, which cemented the reason that vintage beauty like this, will never go out of style.
