1) This is a once in a lifetime trip – Enjoy every minute and take it all in. Whether you are going on your honeymoon the morning after your celebrations, or waiting five years, it is a unique opportunity to focus on you and your loved one with no other distractions.

Be present and live in the moment.

2) No stress – Little things are bound to happen, maybe your flight is delayed or your reservation wasn’t right in the system, don’t let the little things take away from the beauty of this trip. Improvise, jump into the unknown, share your dreams/aspirations and most importantly enjoy the ride. This is too wonderful a moment to let anything get in the way.

3) Immerse yourself – Wherever you go on your honeymoon, there is plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself into a new culture. Make sure to see something new, eat something you haven’t tried before and meet those in the local community. Perhaps they can even teach you a bit of the local language (bonus points if you can use it to sweep your partner off their feet!). Always be adventurous and keep an open mind.

4) This is the beginning of the rest of your life – Use your honeymoon to set the stage for positivity and happiness for years to come. Whether you had a 500 person wedding or a casual intimate ceremony, channel all the positive energy and love that you felt around you. Hold onto all of the wonderful emotions from the day and take that with you on your trip. Ride the wedding high to create an unforgettable experience.

5) Just the two of us – In a world filled with technology and social media, make sure to take the time to disconnect and focus on each other. It’s so easy to get carried away with sharing pictures and stories with others that you don’t spend that precious time creating memories with each other. Make each other your number one priority.
