Lou & Bella

When Lou & Bella decided to tie the knot in their bright pink & navy Sydney waterside wedding, they wanted a day that was relaxed, a little traditional, and honouring their families together in a day that was festive, fun and most importantly – a celebration of their story.

Their day was beautifully captured by Days Like This. Bella popped the question on the ski slopes. Louise explains “Bella proposed to me on a beautiful day while we were skiing at Perisher. We were going down my favourite run and I wanted to stop and take a photo. When I turned around, Bella had a ring in her hand.”

Louise and Bella both chose gowns from Made With Love, Louise explaining “This worked perfectly for us, because they were both different and well suited to our individual styles, but also complementary together.”

The brides shared a bridal party, who all wore navy gowns, Louise telling “We had a big, shared bridal party with close friends and family. We both had old friends and all of our siblings. It was special to have them with us on the day and be surrounded by so much love and support.”

The brides met before the ceremony for a first look.

 

The brides each walked down the aisle at the same time, from two different doors, with their fathers to Kira Grannins’ “Shut Up & Dance”. Once they met, they continued down the aisle together. Louise noting “It was quite a dramatic entrance in the end. We weren’t sure if we could pull it off on the day because there was so much pre-planning, but it all came together.”

Lou and Bella chose Mosman Art Gallery for their ceremony, telling ” We live near the gallery, we loved that it was a creative space but as it is also an old church, it gave our wedding ceremony a genuinely ‘ceremonial’ feel despite the fact that it’s not legally recognised. As it was undercover we also didn’t have to worry about a wet weather back up plan, and the venue could fit our 200 guests so it was great.”

Lauren Meakin officiated the ceremony, Louise commenting “The ceremony was so special for us. All of our guests commented on the love in the room – you could really feel it.”

Of their photographers, Louise tells “Our photographers Luci and Klint were wonderful. It was so lovely to work with easygoing people we could trust. It made our day so much better to know we were in good hands.”

Spring Floral designed the floral arrangements for the day, Louise noting “Caroline from Spring Floral created our flowers which we wanted to be bright and happy. Pops of pink and fuchsia were perfect against the navy blue of the bridal party.”

Guests celebrated the nuptials at Manly Pavilion. Louise noting “We had stunning water views, a gorgeous room, plenty of space for our guests, a big dance floor and the best food anyone had experienced at a wedding. It was a dream venue for us.”  The brides gifted each guest a block of Toblerone chocolate – Bella’s favourite.

Of their first dance, which was kicked off with music by Impression DJs & Scotty Sax.  Louise tells “Real Love by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne – we got our bridal party and family up with us too so it was a fun first dance. We loved Scotty Sax who made the dance floor with his sax and bongos!”

The couple chose the fabulous team at the Mountain Folk Films to capture all the magic of their day through film.
