Elopements are rather magical when it comes down to it. Two people, a celebrant and wedding vows – they strip away all the stress and bring the focus back to something at the very heart of it all. And when it comes to settings, haven’t we seen the most incredible? From amazing woodlands to stunning seaside celebrations and today, we’re all about the incredible beauty of the mountaintop – at sunset no less. The vibrant colours, paired with the bride’s cherry red gown, creating a scene for an elopement that is going to be hard to forget.
Aimee of Lady & The Hound Photography was inspired to create something a little different after she visited the Canadian Rockies. Loving the idea of an elopement in the middle of nature, she set about planning her take on an unconventional elopement with local Queensland vendors. Makeup artist Lia Glover styled the bride’s look, complete with a burgundy lace wedding gown from Pasaboho. The groom dressed in Connor, carrying a lush blanket from Kalaii Creations. The finishing touches of a rustic style bouquet from The Little Flower Market and carefully calligraphed stationery by Small Brown Writes.
Aimee telling “The act of elopement, running off secretly to be married or leaving a safe place, was in all its simple glory the inspiration behind the shoot. I love the idea of relaxed nuptials, where the betrothed—loved up, romantic, uninhibited, and adventurous— commit their lives to one another in a breathtaking location with mother nature as their witness. The notion of simplifying the wedding process, down to the organic roots of where the experience is shared between the two people who matter most in a marriage, motivated me to coordinate the shoot.”
