Emily & Josh

I love it when a couple makes the most of the spaces that are special to them and for Emily and Josh’s Queensland country engagement, making the most of the farm that Josh’s parents own seemed like the most beautiful way to celebrate the start of a new chapter. Emily and Josh chose  NAK Photography to join them prior to their engagement party celebrations to capture the moment.

On what they love about one another, Emily remarks “We are besties! We laugh and have so much fun together, of course, many other reasons as well.”

Josh proposed on holiday. “We were on Christmas holidays at Noosa Heads as we do every year with our families. It was November 27th and as we had been to the beach every day, Josh suggested we go to breakfast instead” remembers Emily. Continuing “We were walking along the jetty and as we walked down to a sandy beach area on the canal Josh mentioned he actually had hired a boat for us for the morning to spend some time together. At this point in time, I still had no idea what was going on! We hopped into this beautiful wooden boat and cruised around the Noosa canals for a bit before we pulled up to a little private beach where the driver suggested we might like to go for a walk. As we were walking along the beach Josh proposed. We walked a little further and there was a beautiful picnic breakfast set up for us with Champagne. We then kept it a surprise for the rest of the day and Josh had already organised a big family dinner with both our family and friends where we announced our engagement! It was so thoughtful and perfect!”

There are too many funny relationship stories for the bride to remember. She does, however, remember the moments prior to the proposal, explaining “Josh had asked my mum for her permission and to help pick a ring back in October so she had known the whole time. After we got engaged I finally understood why the night before we got engaged my mum was suggesting I paint my nails because they were all chipped, I replied with “Nah, so much effort”! She also asked, “Is that what you’re wearing, are you sure?” As we walked out the door to go to “breakfast”.”

Emily notes “We were having our engagement party at Josh’s parent’s beautiful farm in Samford and as we live in Sydney now we thought it would be a good idea to get the photos on the same afternoon. The farm is so beautiful and we love going there and walking around the creek and rest of the property checking out the cows and horses.”
