Luke and Alice

We love it when brides and grooms share their words of wisdom with us – because let’s face it, the best advice comes from people who have been there before you! Alice and Luke celebrated their waterside wedding at a yacht club in Victoria and offered this advice.

“Enjoy the process! There will be so many ups and downs. So many times you think ‘what are you doing! So much money for just a single day!’ However, we wouldn’t change it for the world. The entire process just requires really clear and succinct communication between everyone.

Once you have the big things booked in like catering, venue, band, photographer and hair and makeup you can relax for at least a couple of months.

We also found it hard always being asked questions about what was going on, which was lovely that people were so interested, but we tired of that quickly. Don’t be afraid to have those awkward conversations early on as they will make the entire process so much easier in the long run!

Also be sure to take time on the day to yourselves and sit back and enjoy what you have been able to create.

Finally, organize the packing up and the aftermath of the wedding as this was something I didn’t do and it all got very messy as people wanted to help but didn’t know what to do. You will honestly never write so many lists in your life!”
