It has been some time since we published our first Natural Bridal Makeup Tutorial but it still remains a favourite, not just for us but for you! Today, we are back, sharing a smokey eye version that gives something a little darker and more glam without losing that gorgeous natural styling.

The lovely Katherine Eleyce (Ms Filigree) pulled this shoot together with a talented team of Captured By Pavel, hair & makeup artist Brea Mulder Beaute and model Ella at the seaside venue Beachside Dojo .

For a little extra glam, Ella changed into a mermaid style Demetrios gown with a hairpiece from Glamadonna and jewels by Bride La Boheme.

We love this look to change from day to night (it keeps the same base as our original tutorial) making it a beautiful style to start from scratch with, or play up for after dark.

Hair and makeup artist Brea Mulder Beaute created both looks for us and was lovely enough to share her step by step tutorial (with our added beauty toolbox sharing exactly what products we used!) to help you recreate this look yourself.

To ensure a smooth, natural base for your foundation, we always suggest priming first. We chose The Balm Time Balm Face Primer, to soften the skin and begin the natural glow look we were after. Make sure you smooth this over your entire face.

Choosing the right foundation for this natural look is vital. You will need something that gives good coverage without creating a thick layer or looking visibly cakey on the skin. For this natural glowing look, you also need a foundation that gives a bit of a glow to the skin.

We chose Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation (Natural Beige) which is a lightweight full coverage foundation designed to blur any texture in the skin for a smooth finish.

Starting in the centre of the face, we used a Beauty Blender to work the foundation into the skin. Move back over any spots a second time for additional coverage.

To cover any dark circles and imperfections, we used the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach/Orange layered underneath the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Ivory. This product is so incredibly creamy it really sinks into the skin while giving good coverage. For pin point concealing, make sure to use a tiny brush to blend.

To ensure a flawless finish and absorb any oils throughout the day, set the foundation with a finishing powder (we used Ellie Cosmetics Illuminating Powder in Medium/Fair). Make sure you only use a light dusting of powder to keep a natural sheen on the skin.

Now its time to add more definition to your eyes. Begin with lightly filling in your brows with brown pencil like the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil in Seal Brown. This will strongly frame your face and set the foundation for a more smokey look. Just make sure you keep your pencil strokes short and light so it is a gradual and natural build up of colour.

When it comes to your eyeshadow  you’ll want to choose a rich tone with a slight glisten to it for a romantic yet smokey look. We opted for the Bronze shade from the Avon Mocha Latte Eyeshadow Palette as it perfectly complemented Ella’s vibrant blue eyes. Sweep the shadow over the lid, gradually building up colour in an outwards motion.

To add more depth to your eyes, blend the same shadow into your crease in an outwards motion which will create a subtle smokey look.

The next step is adding a waterproof liner – no smudgy eyes through speeches and first dances here. The Benefit Cosmetics Badgal Waterproof Liner in Black is a perfect choice for your top and bottom lashes. Just add a fine slick close to your upper lashes and softly smudge this into your bottom lashes to complete your smokey eye.

You’re almost finished your eyes, so it’s time for the finishing touches. Coat your top and bottom lashes with a killer mascara like the Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara. This will immediately open up your eyes and add definition. Once your lashes are dry, add more definition with false lashes. An enhanced natural look pair like the Modelrock False Lashes in Allure are perfect as your eyes still look natural, just bigger and better!

To add more of a contoured look to your cheekbones, a light dust of a more intense colour like the Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour In Rose Bud is perfect. Lightly work this colour over your cheekbones in an outward motion, gradually building the colour as you go.

Your new look is almost complete. To finish off the look you want to create a perfectly kissable pout that will be long lasting throughout the evening. Begin with lining your lips in a similar shade to your lipstick. We used Mac Lipliner in Boldly Bare. This will create a strong outline and will help keep your lipstick colour in place for longer.

Fill in your lips with your chosen lipstick that matches the colour of your lipliner. We opted for a natural pink colour with brown undertones (Maybelline Colour Sensation Lipstick in Brazen Beige). This ties back perfectly with the brown tones in the eyeshadow.

Finish off your lips with a slick of gloss like this gorgeous Avon Glazeware Gloss in Nude Muse for a perfect put that will last you well into the evening.
