Cynthia & Yoko
Cynthia and Yoko planned their intimate Auckland wedding around the beautiful leafy venue, Mondays Wholefoods. Keeping things simple, the cosy and foliage laden cafe hosted their romantic nuptials, and we love every moment! On hand to capture everything was talented photographer, Coralee Stone.
The bride and groom met through a mutual friend when Cynthia was least likely to be looking for love, as she shares, ”I was telling my friend that I was single and it was not my intention to get a boyfriend!” They met for a blind date and became firm friends. The rest, as they say, is history!
Cynthia struggled to find her dream dress when she first went looking, especially as she had in mind something short and simple. She tells, ”I went to a couple of bridal gown stores but unfortunately none matched my dream dress. I then went to the Miss Crabb boutique and found the perfect wedding dress! I even had it tailor made as it didn’t come in white. I was so pleased, happy and excited to wear the wedding dress I loved!” The bride wore Valentino heels and a foliage wreath in her hair.
There was no doubt in Cynthia’s mind she had found their photographer when she came across Coralee Stone on social media, as she shares, ”I first encountered Coralee’s work via Facebook and Instagram. We fell in love with her honest and beautiful pictures and from that moment, we could not wait to to contact her!” The bride knew what she was looking for in a bouquet too, requesting amaranthus and flowers that flowed from The Floral Stylist. She tells, ”I told my florist that I love red and purple flowers. On the day, I was so happy that everything turned out exactly how I wanted!”
Holding both the ceremony and reception at Mondays Wholefoods proved no problem at all, with the bride recalling, ”The cafe was covered with vine leaves and we wanted to make use of the beautiful, intimate environment. For the tables, we were so grateful that the staff were so friendly, and happily discussed with us the best seating arrangement for the reception and the setup for the ceremony. We wanted the ceremony to be at the back of the cafe in the courtyard, and the dinner just beside the courtyard with long tables.”
Looking for a simple but beautiful venue, Cynthia chose Mondays Wholefoods in Auckland for the lush foliage and welcoming atmosphere. ”We didn’t want to use too many props or decorations as we thought the cafe itself was a really unique, warm and cosy place for our small wedding. The staff at Mondays Wholefoods were beyond amazing! We couldn’t have asked for more as they worked extremely hard to meet our needs. We would definitely recommend them!”
And despite the rain, the couple cherish everything about their wedding, with Cynthia sharing, ”It was a funny and memorable day, and still a perfect day for us to remember. Some of our family came all the way from Indonesia and also Australia. We were just so grateful that they could make it to our wedding.”
Thank you to our gorgeous bride and groom for sharing their day with us, and congratulations on your wedding! A special thank you also to Coralee Stone who captured their day.
