I love the deep romance of bold red and today, on the day of love, I could think of nothing better than to share a styled shoot that centres around the boldest colour of all.
Australian florist Woods & Bloom headed to New Orleans for this inspiration shoot, teaming up with photographer Trevor Mark
“Our floral designer Cat was inspired by one of her favourite poets Rumi and the poem “Stay Close To My Heart”. The magic of New Orleans creating an atmosphere she describes as “romantic and bold with loose gardeneque design, something a little bit sultry, something to inspire the lovers and the dreamers to celebrate the love in their own lives.” A beautiful red bouquet finished with vintage ribbons from Promenade Ribbons kicking off the romance of the shoot.
The historic bright Red Haus set the scene with beautiful styling and vintage furniture from Pret a Fete , model Jaclyn Stover working with Allison Terrebonne for her hair and makeup dressed in a stunning lace gown by Callie Tein from Modern Trousseau, supplied by the fabulous ladies at Wedding Belles Nola.
Lush red blooms were the centrepiece of the table, Cat explaining “We set up our tableaux with a compote arrangement of red lush David Austin blooms, chocolate Queen Anne’s Lace, locally grown anemones and ranunculus and silver dollar gum, lotus pods and privet berry. Our tableware was a mix of vintage and modern pieces.”
