Sarah & Logan
A certain beachside town holds a lot of love for a lot of people. Beautiful beaches, amazing food and an amazing holiday atmosphere mean that most of us hold this little village in our hearts. Sarah and Logan chose Byron Bay for their rustic glam Graciosa Byron Bay Wedding – citing the beautiful venue with it’s rolling hills as ” luxurious with a relaxed and rustic feel”. The couple chose The Follans to capture their day.
The couple has one of those serendipitous stories that led them together, even though they grew up almost next door. Sarah remembers “We met through a mutual friend and one of my bridesmaids (Kelly), little did we know that we actually shared several friends and friendship circles. Further, it turned out we grew up only a little over a kilometre apart.”
Sarah chose a lace gown from Heirloom Bridal, telling “It was a slim line, simple, low back with beautiful lace. I searched everywhere and tried on a million dresses but couldn’t find the one I pictured. I eventually printed out some photos and met Kate who is the sweetest person. Kate is truly talented and she brought my dream wedding dress to life.”
Sarah and Logan chose Graciosa Byron Bay for their wedding, Sarah remembering “Graciosa Byron Bay is gracefully set on a high hill overlooking rolling green fields and Bangalow town, the farmhouse and 79-acre property is grand, luxurious with a relaxed and rustic feel. What made us fall in love with the venue was the giant natural bamboo archway that felt like an outdoor cathedral, the minute we walked under it, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. And to top it off there was rustic barn as a blank canvas to create the reception of my dreams.”
Sarah walked down the aisle to Teneriffe Sea by Ed Sheeran, sung acoustically by Adam Harpaz.
Nathan Crouch officiated the ceremony, of which Sarah tells “We wanted the ceremony to be relaxed but have traditional elements. We wrote our own vows and read them to each other, it was very emotional and Andrew our photographer captured it all on camera particularly Logan wiping tears from his eyes!”
Of their photographer, Sarah remarks “Andrew from ‘The Follans’ was our photographer. What an amazing person and photographer! He was professional and organised in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. Logan and I both don’t like having our picture taken at the best of times let alone 1000 on your wedding day. Andrews relaxed approach made us feel comfortable in front of the camera creating beautiful photos that will last a lifetime. I have already recommended him to friends!”
Sarah and Logan hired plenty of talent for their day – Byron Bay Weddings planned the day, The French Petal created the floral arrangements, The Wedding Shed provided the rentals and Fig Tree Catering created the sit down feast. Sarah remembers “Estelle from The French Petal did all of the floral design for the day- WOW WOW WOW she is one talented sweet lady, the hanging greenery and garlands of flowers in our reception was truly breathtaking. Byron Bay Weddings helped us plan and prepare for our big day. Emily the wedding coordinator in the lead up to the day and Dave the coordinator on the day did an incredible job. The day ran seamlessly with everything falling into place, there really wasn’t one hiccup, I couldn’t speak higher of them both as people and the professionalism of Byron Bay Weddings.”
Sarah made sure to pay homage to the special people in her life unable to be present. “I created a ‘wish you were here’ table with pictures of grandparents and loved ones who couldn’t be with us on the day. I also wore my late Grandmother’s engagement ring around my bouquet so she could be close to me on the day. The ring was Sapphire and diamond which was meant as my something old, borrowed & blue!”
Guest took home mini jars of honey from Kelly Beans Bomboniere. Sarah telling “We had LOTS of details – the wedding really was a year in the making, I bought bits and pieces from $2 stores, online, Ebay, Etsy. I bought and hired decorations for the table settings, reception, gift table and lounge area.”
The couple chose Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” for their first dance, the bride explaining”The song always reminded us of each other when we heard it playing, we went to the Ed Sheeran concert and danced to this song in the rain.”
Sarah and Logan chose Outerpath Films, the gorgeous outdoor celebration captured magically.
