Kate & Henry
With a classic feel, the wedding of Kate & Henry is nothing short of glamorous. Choosing a Sydney Royal Motor Yacht Club wedding and photographer SugarLove Weddings, the couple wanted a day that was elegant and relaxed, focusing on a buzzing atmosphere for their big day.
Kate fills us in on how she and Henry came to be. “Our older sisters are very good friends so we knew each other prior to our first meeting. But it was at the Oak Hotel in Double Bay 6 years ago where we officially met and the romance blossomed from there!!”
Kate chose Johanna Johnson to make her gown, remembering, “It was the “Golding Gown” teamed with the “Austen Belt”. I was looking for a more modern dress but still wanted it to be elegant and formal. The gown fit exactly what was I was looking for. It was simple but elegant and I loved wearing it!”
Kate and Henry chose Kincoppal Rose Bay for their ceremony, remembering, “We got married at the Kincoppal Rose Bay School Chapel which is where I went to school from Kindergarten to year 12. We went to a wedding at Kincoppal a year before ours and we both just loved the feel and beauty of the chapel!”
“We loved the whole lead up, rehearsal dinner, wedding, recovery, honeymoon! It was really is the best time in your life!”
Of their photographer, Kate tells, “We were lucky enough to have the amazing Bradley who captured our day beautifully. It was a lovely autumn day in May and the afternoon lighting in Nielsen Park where we had our photos taken was stunning!”
The couple chose Zest at Point Piper for their reception, “After looking at a few venues for our reception we decided on The Royal Motor Yacht Club. We loved that it was right on the water at Point Piper and had a beautiful view of the harbour. The room had just been renovated in a Hampton’s style and had a big balcony. We loved both of our locations!”
Royal Sydney Golf Club Florist styled the floral arrangements for the day, the bride remarking, “Our florist Vicci Kerr from Royal Sydney Golf Club was amazing. From our first meeting she understood exactly what we wanted- lots of candles, lots of flowers (white and soft pinks) and a big floral arrangement above the bridal table. Nothing was a problem – she sourced a collection of square mirrors for our table settings which the flowers and candles went on and anything we wanted!”
Of the first dance, the bride tells, “Our first dance was Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker. We didn’t really want the traditional slow bridal waltz so we opted for a song we both love that’s very upbeat and fun!!”
Henry and Kate worked with Soda Films to capture a film of their wedding day, the team capturing the beautiful light and of course the beautiful moments of the day.
Congratulations Kate and Henry! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to SugarLove Weddings for sharing today’s celebration!
