Fancy a secret overseas honeymoon getaway that isn’t far from home? Australian favourite, Bali, is perfect for your escape! For many years Australians have boasted their love for the tropical Indonesian island but there still are some hidden gems. Check out our list below for something different to do on your Balinese trip.

What to do:

Venture off to the Campuhan Ridge Walk where you can follow the nine kilometre track through the lush hillsides. The walk will take you passed intricately carved temples and rice fields. There’s options for the more experienced trekker and a lighter walk for those of you who would rather take it easy. The views on the trek are enough of a highlight, let alone the fact that it’s free and there’s a village nearby where you can stop for a bite to eat.

Not many people can say they have been in a submarine, but you can! Take off for a 45 minute trip with Odyssey Submarine and explore Bali underwater. The submarine was built to hold around 36 people and can go as deep as 150 feet. The air conditioned vessel will embark on the underwater journey from Amuk Bay and treat you to views of Bali from below.

Bali is the perfect place to appreciate the natural beauties of the world. There are many hot spots to check out the island’s waterfalls, some more popular than others. One of our favourites is Banyumala Twin Waterfalls –  it’s tricky to find but well worth the challenge. Make sure you take a few minutes to cool off and soak up the scenery.

How about a romantic candle lit reservation for two? Picture this: one hundred candles twinkling by the Ayung river, scattered rose petals and the sole company of your significant other. At The Samaya Ubud, the only table will be the one occupied by you! On this amazingly special evening you can expect a six course tasting menu which can be altered before the night depending on your tastes.
