Celeste & Lachlan
This beautiful garden wedding shows just how much even Autumn can be filled with beautiful blooms. I can’t get enough of Celeste and Lachlan’s romantic Abbotsford Convent wedding which was such an incredibly beautiful day.
Celeste tells their story. “We met at a houseparty after I stole Lachlan’s gin. He came to get it back and we’ve been inseparable ever since.”
The day kicked off with modern stationery by Drew Coughlan, Celeste remarking “We were lucky enough to have our extremely talented friend, Drew Coughlan designing our invitations and place cards. All our guests commented on how wonderful our invitations looked.”
“We had both the wedding ceremony and reception at the Abbotsford Convent. The ceremony was in the gardens on the Rosina lawn, and the reception was in the adjacent Rosina function space. Both spaces were beautiful and really fit with our vision for the day.”
For her walk down the aisle, Celeste chose Pachelbel’s Canon in D “played by the incredible and talented Alto Strings string quartet.”
Celeste wore a gown by Anna Campbell , noting, “I picked an Anna Campbell dress called ‘the Isobelle’ from the Anna Campbell boutique in Brunswick. As soon as I put on the Isobelle, I knew it was the dress for me. I was looking for a dress that was soft, flowing and romantic and it ticked all the boxes. The girls at the Anna Campbell Brunswick store were so knowledgeable and helpful. They also took the time to really listen to what I was looking for and show me dresses that fit my vision of how I wanted to look on the day.”
Noel Stonehouse officiated the ceremony, the bride remarking, “We tailored our ceremony as much as possible to reflect our values and us as a couple. We didn’t have any readings as we had decided to keep things very short and sweet. We knew our guests would want to get to the wine and dancing as soon as possible!”
Sweet Milton created a three tier naked wedding cake topped in edible flowers and fresh berries.
Celebrations continued in the Rosina Room. Botanics of Melbourne styling the floral arrangements for the day. “We really wanted floral arrangements that would wow everyone and compliment the beautiful space of the Rosina function room. Our florist, Shane from Botanics of Melbourne, suggested hanging garlands of greenery from the exposed roof beams and we immediately decided that was exactly what we wanted. It looked incredible.”
“Our MC, Lou Galassi was an absolute stand out for us. Lou was amazing in the lead up and on the day. He took all the stress out of the day and made sure everything ran smoothly.”
Of their dance floor debut, Celeste remembers, “Our first dance was to ‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran.”
Congratulations Celeste and Lachlan! Thank you for sharing your day with us!
