Emma & Samuel

There is always a lot to love about a wedding with classic touches and Emma and Samuel’s waterside black tie wedding is not only a classic celebration, but it’s full of special, sentimental moments and stunning waterside views. Emma and Samuel chose GM Photographics for their wedding.

Emma and Samuel met at Cargo Bar, Kings Street Wharf – on the dance floor!

Emma wore a Pallas Couture  gown, noting, “The dress was from the Pallas Couture collection La Promesse. It had French lace detail and beading with sheer panels at the back covered by French Spider Lace. The veil I wore was my eldest sister’s, also from Pallas Couture. I knew it was the dress for me as soon as I tried it on. The experience was exciting and nerve racking at the same time as I wanted to make sure I picked the best dress for me.”

The newlyweds recall, “Our ceremony was very traditional, just as we wanted. We had two readings and four prayers of the faithful. The readings were read by the bride’s brother in law, the groom’s sister and the prayers of the faithful read by two very close friends who also drove the bride and bridesmaids to the church. We had traditional hymns, played on the organ and accompanied by an amazing singer. We left the church to, I vow to thee, “thaxted” – Gustav Holst the original version of the Rugby World Cup Anthem.”

Of their photographers, Emma and Sam note, “Graham, Adam and Tim were all amazing. Graham went to the boys in the morning, and was great at calming all their nerves, and got some fantastic shots at the hotel and around Circular Quay. He made their morning fun and relaxed. Adam and Tim came to the bride’s Mother’s house, and were also great. They captured every detail of the day (including a book I had given my mum years ago) and made everyone calm and relaxed. All the photos taken on the day were amazing and it was hard to find one we didn’t love. The locations selected for after the ceremony photos were breathtaking and something we will never forget.”

Emma and Sam chose Zest @ The Spit for their wedding, noting, “The reception was held at Zest at the Spit, which was perfect due to Sam’s (groom) connection to water and boating. The venue was modern and simple and the view spectacular. The food was also amazing and a talking point for many of our guests.” Samuel’s mother made the elegant wedding cake.

Of their first dance, Emma and Sam remember, “For our first dance we both were very nervous so decided to do some dance lessons, which turned out to be a lot of fun leading up to the wedding. Our song we choose was, ‘You’re my best friend’, by Queen. It was performed live at the wedding by our band.”
